Arriving about 7 pm in Hattiesburg, we were looking for a hotel and saw a sign in front of this Ramada advertising 49 dollars. We drove up the hill to the entrance and there was only one car visible at the front and I thought it was closed. We checked in and asked the clerk where the closest restaurant was and she said she didn't know, she just moved there. She did say the one in the hotel was closed for remodeling due to a fire. Downhill from then on. We found a restaurant with our gps and I could not call out of the room (local call). I called the desk and she said I had to dial 9 to dial out. I then tried again, same problem, cannot call out. I called the desk back and she said they were changing phone systems but she could call the number and she would ring the room after she got them on the line. So we were able to talk to the restaurant. Observations: rack to hang clothes on was really rusty, vent in bathroom covered with dust and maybe mold, molding falling off and poorly done on the tub, we were supposed to get about 50 channels according to the guide and couldn't. We called the desk and she said they were in the process of changing the tv cable system. There was no continental breakfast, only coffee offered, which we didn't even bother to go for. My friend went to pay for the room the next morning at checkout and they could not get the credit card machine to work (probably due to the phone system being changed ??). This hotel didn't even deserve to have the Ramada name on it...worst one I have ever stayed in.
