I selected this property based on great reviews. I mean, everybody can't be wrong, right? I have once again learned that you must always 'consider the source'. Since I travel extensively, I have a great base of comparision. This hotel is 'fair' at best. To the 'motel 6 crowd' it may be great, but to the 'courtyard crowd' it would be a dive. To me, it's a definate b-grade. It's well worn and even the dark carpet can't hide the dirt. The room was clean - so to speak. The maids did clean what was there, but what was there was in bad shape. I mean, you can properly vac a carpet and call it clean, but the carpet itself needs replacing LONG AGO. Everything about this hotel oozes BUDGET. Staff was very friendly and that's nice, but it doesn't make the beds good. This trip involved a half dozen hotels and this bed was the worse of the lot. Funny, other reviews called them confortable. They were not. They were obviously bargain basement mattresses.
I paid $99 for this hotel. I paid $95 for a Hilton Garden Inn the night before. The Hilton was far, far superior.
On the brighter side was a pretty decent breakfast for a free hotel breakfast. Several hot items (eggs & sausage) of the pre-cooked-then-heated-up variety, and the usual breads, cerial, danish, and fruit.
In summation, a mediocre, well worn, b-grade hotel, with uncomfortable beds, and a drab room of the budget variety, with a decent breakfast. If I had to stay in Clinton again I would try the Holiday Inn Express which looked newer and nicer, or travel the 15 miles to Jackson which has a Hilton Garden Inn and Hyatt Place for roughly the same money. If you like Microtels, you'll probably like this place. If your taste is toward a Courtyard, stay away.
