We stayed at the Super 8 in St. James for two nights on a late summer weekend getaway to tour some of Minnesota's historical sights. The hotel was full with wedding guests, but the staff did all they could to accomodate our desire for a non-smoking room, including bringing in an ionizer prior to the one night we spent in a smoking room. Extra towels and blankets were also provided as requested. The rooms are of typical size, and were clean, and they had microwaves and small fridges. All staff were cordial and friendly. In-room wi-fi was excellent. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast room was roomy and had enough seating. Breakfast offerings included waffles, cereals, donuts & muffins, and fruit. The pool is smallish, but fine for the kids, and well maintained. The Happy Chef next door is out-of-business, but a Pizza Hut and a convenience store are nearby. The town of St. James offers several other restaurants for casual dining and fast food.
