the rooms and general lobby were both very Clean. We have stayed her a few times our second time the young girl working the desk must have been new which wasnt a big deal she wa working the night shift and kept going in and out of room across the hall from ours where a few kids her age seemed to be staying/partying, wasnt very professional at all.

HOWEVER the first time we stayed at this Super 8 we enjoyed it very much..Friendly and helpful Staff :) we would gladly stay again.

We enjoyed our time in Fosston. It is a very small town friendly people. The only hotel in Fosston is the Super 8.

Had to finally stop on a long trip, and Fosston was the limit of endurance. There by the roadside was a very rural, very quiet, very clean Super 8, and it fit the bill perfectly. Great place for trailer/RV parking, as the lot was huge and surrounded by...well...more lot. We didn't have advance reservations, but even with a "homecoming" weekend in the surrounding towns, there was room here as it was a little too far from anywhere to be part of the crowd. The rooms were clean, the staff were courteous and offered advice on where we could get some late food, and all was really affordable w/ the AAA card discount. Would stay here again and advise others as well.

My grandmother lives in small town northwestern MN, and recently moved to senior housing, so we needed to find a new place to stay when we come up to visit her. On our first visit up there since her move, my mom and I stayed at the Fosston Super 8, and found it to be basic but perfectly acceptable accommodations, with a few perks.

There is usually just one person on duty and they may not always be at the front desk, which I assume is typical of small towns. But the hotel is small, so it is easy to flag him/her down if you need assistance. The rooms are very plain and simple, as you would expect from a Super 8: dark red industrial carpeting, white walls, simple pull-curtains, sink area, and bathroom with shower/toilet. But they were clean and in great shape. I also noticed our room had a DVD player in it, which is unusual to find in hotels of this class, and you can check out DVDs from the front desk. The lobby has a small lounge area, breakfast nook, and the walls are covered in old-time photographs of Fosston, which were kind of fun to look at. The hotel offers a very basic continental breakfast: coffee, milk/juice, English muffins, plain cake donuts, cereal, toast, and the usual condiments - that's about it.

One fun perk is that the Fosston Super 8 gives guests free movie passes to the Fosston Theatre on request. I highly recommend catching a showing of the movie (yes, there is only one screen!) playing if you have time. The theater was recently remodeled with log cabin decor, with an old movie projector on display, and stadium seating.

Overall, my mom and I were very pleased with the Fosston Super 8 and will continue to stay here when we go up to visit my grandmother. The only people I would not recommend this hotel to are families with children who love to play in the hotel pool (such as my aunt's family), since this hotel does not have a pool. If you are looking for that, your closest option is probably Bemidji.
