We stayed here in suite #7 for one evening only trying the different lodging up in the boundary waters for future vacations. We are a couple in our upper 20's with a small yorkie that we brought up from the Twin Cities area. Pets are not only allowed, but also welcomed. We got to know the two dogs of the property and had no issues with them as they are well mannered and got along with our dog.
Our first impression was excellent, the 1 bedroom suite is in almost new condition even though they were done in 2006(?). The view was very picturesque and was elevated above most other cabins so you do have to walk down to the lake front if that's an issue for you. It contains a kitchen with everything needed, small dining table, living room, fireplace, and separate bedroom and bathroom. There are no tvs, which is the idea since we wanted to get closer to nature. The weather didn't cooperate when we were there with thunderstorms rolling in, but we still enjoyed our time there.
Marie was wonderful in what little time we had with her, she recommended restaurants, activities, and was available for anything.
Ely, MN was the closest "city" to us which offered a row of tourist shops for clothes, knick-knacks, restaurants, etc. We ate at Evergreen, Britton's, Burnstside Lodge, and Stony Ridge- and all were excellent.
The next time I would probably rent a full cabin and wouldn't hesitate recommending this to anyone who wants to get away into nature in the boundary waters while still keeping many amenaties that we are used to.
