I would have rated this a 5 since my friends had a wonderful time staying here. This was our "girls only" weekend and we chose the Holiday Inn Express for its location to Chanhassen Theater and because Holiday Inn's are normally my first choice to stay. To make a long story short, I made our reservation under government rate (which I can do) but I wasn't able to be with the group due to an injury. I called the motel and when I told them I wouldn't be with, both of our rooms went up $50 each. Understandable that I wasn't with that they shouldn't get the rate but when I called to talk to the manager who got back to me two days after I called to see if the rate could at least be the advance purchase rate (which I could have done since I booked the two rooms in May), before I could say anything he said, "You agreed to the new rate and paid for it, what is the problem?" I tried to explain that maybe it could have been put to the advance purchase rate and he continued to argue with me. I mentioned that I didn't think he had the best customer service and he told me "you are immature." Wow! I would like to report him but don't know how. So what would have been a 5 star rating because of the nice treatment they gave my family and friends (even an upgrade in their one room), now isn't. If I was rating the manager, it would have been a -10 rating. Stay - hotel is nice; manager isn't.

I stay at the Holiday Inn Express to get away from the realities of life. I call it my mini vacation. The rooms are extremely clean and spacious. The service is excellent. I feel comfortable at the holiday inn. I would give this hotel five stars plus.

We stayed here for one night when we went to a play at the dinner theatre in Chanhassen. We were told they would shuttle us to the play, but upon check-in found out they only offer shuttle service certain times and days; which did not include a Sunday night show. The hotel did not seem as new as it appeared on the web-site photos and the pool was pretty small compared to the pictures. It does have a slide, but you can only use the slide during certain hours (5-10 p.m.) and also in the morning for a couple of hours on the weekends. So our kids didn't get to use the slide during our stay which was a main reason we booked this hotel. Also be advised they do allow smoking in this hotel which we were unaware of. We did move to a non-smoking floor after checking in on a floor that allowed smoking. The breakfast was really good and they even have a little pancake maker that does all the work for you and of course those fabulous cinnamon rolls. It was also a nice bonus to be able to use the fitness center across the street as guests of Holiday Inn. They have a nice pool facility (outdoor and indoor).

We had a great experience at the holiday inn chanhassen from check in to check out. Front desk manager very pleasant and cordial. We only stayed one night wish it were more. Fun pool area with a water slide. Only negative thing about that is it has limited hours at staff has to watch it. Great breakfast in the morning! Family suite very spacious as we have enough room for two adults and three kids.
