I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but it is really starting to show its age and is going downhill fast. I was scheduled to stay for three nights in January, and noticed spots of blood on the bed sheets the next morning, and after looking, found bed bugs crawling around. Needless to say, I checked out and moved to another hotel.

The title says it all. The carpet in our room (two bedroom suite) was just downright nasty. We all were hesitant to walk around the room barefoot. Probably the worst Residence I have stayed in.

I stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed it very much. When I checked in my requests were accommodated very nicely. I was always greeted warmly by the staff and even the woman doing the laundry greeted me like I was an old family friend. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a layout of everything you could think of for breakfast. I would stay here again easily. My room was missing the coffee pot and the pot was replaced and maintenance even left a handwritten note apologizing for the inconvenience.

I checked into this hotel on a Sat. morning for the Final Four Games in Downtown Detroit. We got this room for free by using our Marriott Rewards Points. We thought it was a good way to save cash by getting the One Room Suite w/ Couch-Bed instead of 2 separate rooms for us and another couple. The stairways looked kind of old and run down w/ rust on them. Once entering the room it was nicely decorated w/ large LCD TV's in Living Room and Bedroom. After pulling out the coach for our guests to sleep it was VERY cramped in the room. The kitchen/couch area was similar to a very small studio apt. There was 2 doors to lead to the bathroom which was nice for privacy between us & guests. The breakfast is ALWAYS lovely @ the Residence. Waffles, Eggs, Cheese Sauce, Sausage, Cereal, Toast, Fruit, Oatmeal, American Hash Browns, Juice, Teas, & Coffee. For sure worth waking up a little early for. Then we went back to the room and caught a nap as they allowed us to check out late at 1pm. I can't comment on price value as we used our rewards points, but it was for sure a great place to stay if you are in need of 2 room suites.
