“Just what I needed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

Am writing this review before I check out of the Asylum Inn. I had the most wonderful three night stay - just what I needed. The place was exactly described on the website. The bed was super comfortable and as others have noted the linens were great! I stayed in the third floor penthouse - it's a little dark but this in no way detracted from my stay. The kitchen has everything you need. The jacuzzi tub was lovely. The owner has taken great care on the decor with lovely antique/retro touches - beautiful lamps throughout. We had a miscommunication at check in that the owner resolved with sincerity and kindness. All's well that ends well. I would definitely come back.

“Great suite for awesome beach town stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011 via mobile

Stayed only one night this time, but have stayed previously multiple times multiple nights. You will not find a better location if wanting to park your car and enjoy walking to beach, restaurants, marina, and downtown. Tina and her husband have done an excellent job restoring this historic place. She has decorated beautifully throughout, only chosen the best linens/sheets, and it is super clean. I have also appreciated her flexibility with arrival and departure times and if she can accommodate, she will. You will find everything you need in each suite for a great stay. Definitely will be back again and again each season! Chelsea, MI

“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2009

Everything about the Asylum Inn met my expectations. We rented the entire building and filled it with friends and family. The owner was friendly and helpful. Everything was prepared when we arrived. It is very clean. The beds are very comfortable, with good quality sheets and quilts. The kitchens are well enough equipt. The area in back was a great meeting place for the entire clan. The location is excellent- close to stores and restaurants, and within walking distance of the beach. We had a super time!

“A favorite destination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2009

Each time we visit we stay with a group of friends and occupy all three floors, each group has their own floor. That works out perfectly as each floor is self sufficient and always is stocked with anything you might need. The location is perfect with shops and restaurants only a short walk away and the beach just several blocks down. The Asylum Inn has provided our group with many fond memories and we look forward to visiting again and again.
