“DIngy Rooms, did let us out of paying for second night”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

We booked the two room whirlpool suite in order to give us a second room for our two year old daughter to sleep in. When we arrived, the non smoking room smelled like smoke, holes on the inside doors were patched but not painted, and the furniture was in a dingy state. The couch was bowing toward the floor and the arm rests on the chair in bedroom were disgusting. I have stayed at nicer hotels for $39/night. Hotel managament was receptive to our complaint and did let us out of a second night stay. We quickly moved to a clean hotel on the west side of Lansing. Would not stay here again!

“Clean and Comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2008

My husband grew up in Portland, we were in town for a wedding. It was kind of fun feeling like a tourist in your hometown!

We were promptly greated by a pleasant clerk and allowed to check in two hours early (we wanted to freshen up before the wedding). Our room was very clean. The pool area is nice. The hot tub was actually a little cool for our liking, but still enjoyable. There were many families staying there that weekend, so there were a lot of kids running around. The pool was still full of kids at 11pm when we returned to the hotel (it would be nice to limit it to adults only at that time of night). After a quick swim we returned to our room. It was amazingly quiet for the number of kids running around the hotel.

My husband brought me breakfast to the room. They now offer fresh made waffles in addition to the typical hotel breakfast.

Overall a nice stay.

“VERY BAD - go somewhere (ANYWHERE) else!!!”

Booked through Best Western site (claimed to have lowest price). When we arrived after a long air trip near midnight, the clerk raised the rate (even though it was guaranteed by Best Western). We waited 40 minutes for a resolution during which time they refused to let our 2 year old use the bathroom. In the end we were told we would have to wait until the manager (who they had already talked to on the phone) arrived in the morning. The room was small, unclean and appeared to have a fresh (uncleaned) blood stain on the floor. This was a *VERY UNPLEASANT, UNCLEAN* place to stay.

“Pleasant Stay”

This was a nice hotel, clean, and I was very impressed that the pool was actually opened 24 hours!! That is almost unheard of!! But I know people who took advantage of that, because we got back to the hotel from a wedding rather late, and it was nice to relax in the pool, although, my husband said the hot tub was too hot!! The continental breakfast was average, no hot foods, unless you consider toast hot! All in all, it was a nice place and I would stay there again. I must say that it took forever to check in, considering there were two weddings in the area, and alot of people were staying at the hotel, it would have helped to have had more personnel behind the counter checking people in.
