I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past few years. I must say that I am impressed with the renovations and the overall friendliness of the staff. They have even shoveled my car out of a snowbank and cleaned it off for me.
My family and I were there the night of the so-called "rude staff" experience and i must say that I am disappointed with the lady who made the complaint.
First of all, she and her family totally disregarded the hotel staffs repeated requests to please keep food and drinks out of the pool area. At one point their child actually asked the staff member if she didnt have anything better to do with her time. I'm sorry but if you can't follow the rules and are the cause of the problem you have no right to complain.
Secondly, they started harrassing the third shift lady as soon as she got there. the poor girl didn't even know what was going on yet.
I have never had a problem with any of these girls. They have always gone out of their way to make my stay pleasant. Keep it up ladies!

My husband and I have been staying at this hotel for years when visiting Portland. It has always seemed ok - but our last stay was the worst!!! After a long day we checked in and got our young kids quickly to bed. After the kids were asleep we discovered the bathroom was dirty AND UNSANITARY! The floor had dried up mud all over it as well as small pieces of trash (used tape, paper towel or Kleenex pieces). There were also many curly dark hairs on the floor. I also found brown, crusty fecal matter on the inside rim of the toilet. I cleaned it up myself with a Clorox wipe from my bag as the kids were sleeping and I did not want to wake them to switch rooms. It got worse - in the morning I discovered a large dried booger in the shower. Upon check-out the manager was only able to give me a $15 credit on our bill. For the disgusting experience , you would think they would do more. I e.mailed the general manager and asked for additional credit on the stay and have received nothing. The reply was short, and did not earnestly attempt to resolve the situation. I WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! Management does not seem to care about their room cleanliness or keeping long-time customers.

It was surprised when i visited in past summer after two year later.Its newly renovated property and i can't believe that how nice it looked . Very nice Swimming Pool, Game Room and Breakfast Room. Had real good time to use WIFI and Business Center with Printer. I can tell it known by its name American Heritage Inn is excellent with new carpet, bedding, drapes and entire hotel has fresh paint. How i forgotten about best customer service ever i find in hotel...just aggressive to assist the guest as a Host... Great Place!!!!!!

I just had a horrifying experience at this hotel last night. Very late I arrived back to my room from work, pulled back the covers and laid down for the night. I immediately smelled a foul odor but couldnt identify where it was coming from. Within seconds I realized my arm and hand were wet. The "wet" was urine soaking through the sheet from the mattress below!! After nearly vomiting because my face had also just been in that same area, I called the clerk who was helpful and switched my room (remember its about 2am). I talk to the owner today who says that the situation "was no big deal" and he doesnt feel he owes me a complimentary night. DON'T STAY HERE, EVER!!!!
