Previous reviewers cover the Lighthouse and road quite well. My last visit was at the end of April 2011. The road can be a challenge at times so make sure you know exactly where to turn (there are signs). In bad weather it could be sloppy in spots. The last 7 miles of road is curvy through the woods and averaging 20-30mph would be reasonable. Once you get there they have a very nice gift shop. The restrooms have been available every time I've been there even if there were no volunteers. The gift shop and boardwalks are wheelchair accessible I believe but obviously not the lighthouse. The beach is beautiful. Still some leftover ice on the old docks when I was there, great for pictures. Spectacular beach, wish the water was warm enough for swimming but if you like to beach comb, there a lots of nice stones/rocks and more. Maybe you'll find an agate! You are surrounded by unspoiled northern forest. Good birding area (eagles, ospreys, spruce grouse, etc.). I could walk the beach for miles! Can be windy and colder than inland if the wind is off the lake. I also like to stop at the great restaurant at the Upper Tahquamenon Falls which includes a brew pub! (About half way between Paradise and the lighthouse.)
