“Like trying to sleep in a NFL stadium”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

While the facilities were okay and the rooms was clean the noise, both from inside and outside was almost unbearable. I thought the circus was in town and staying in the room above us while a convention was going on in the hall outside our room. All until nearly one AM. This hotel, like all Comfort Inns we have stayed in has to have the smallest bathrooms of any chain. My wife has vision problems and often needs help with the shower. Trying to get both of us into the bathroom was a laugh and even though it was a accessible room the grab bars for the tub were in the wrong place. Last but not least is the price, we have been on the road for five weeks and have used multiple comparable brands for lodging. This place was the most expensive we have stayed in and the one we liked the least.

“Dated but Adequate”

This hotel is across the street from the McDonalds on the highway outside of Newberry. Our TomTom did not know the location and took us out to nowhere. The desk clerk had heard this multiple times.
The hotel is dated and has a weird layout. There is a hot tub but no pool. The hot tub was hot and clean.
The room was dated but adequate for a remote location.
Breakfast had limited choices but was also adequate.
The staff was friendly and helpful.

“Good place to overnight when options are limited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

The Comfort Inn in Newberry provided basic overnight accommodations in a town with limited options. The room was large but the lighting was limited. Could not open up the window to get fresh air. The room was clean, bed comfortable and basic continental breakfast offered. The hotel was in a convenient location, although restaurant options in Newberry are limited.

“Excellent motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

The Comfort Inn in Newberry sets a high standard for chain motels. It certainly looked more inviting than several others we drove past. The room was clean and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was hardy – what you might expect for the Upper Peninsula. Even the building architecture was a little more interesting than your typical chain motel.

We reserved the queen suite (it was the same price as a standard room). Definitely spacious and included a small kitchen, so much more pleasant than the typical motel room.

“Not bad for a chain motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

We arrived by bicycle during a two week tour around Lake Superior. It was a long, hot day, so the large, air-conditioned room was probably enough for us. I typically avoid Comfort Inn properties as they are often pretty beat up and neglected. This one was not. It was quite tidy in fact. And did not reek of smoke - like many cheap chain motels. Our only problem was distance to dining as we could only walk - after 75 - 100 miles of riding, getting back on to ride into Newberry (4 miles north) was not an option. The restaurant across the M-28 (Pickleman's Pantry) was lackluster, but at least we didn't get sick from it. So we had that going for us, which was nice.
