My partner and I saw the picture of this hotel in a guide book, advertising Hotels that guarantee silence...and this place lived up to that slogan. Even thou it's quiet, we both needed to unwind and we kept saying ...'Oh I feel soooo relaxed'! Our room was situated towards the back with a private gate leading you on a path to the beach. (The beach is really lovely - in a cove, family atmosphere). There is a handful of bars and eating places if you don't want to eat in the hotel. The restuarant serves a lovely meal, the oysters were divine. The manager comes around and makes himself known and was very friendly. Next morning at breakfast he was there to check if you had a nice sleep. We would return.

We stayed at Les Prateaux for a couple of nights, it's a "Relais Silence" and very quiet indeed. It's situated just outside Noirmoutier and the beach is only 100m away. Rooms are clean and very spacious with well equipped bathrooms. All rooms have their own terrace on a common patio. The buildings look like bungalows, with white walls in the typical Vendee style. There is also a very good restaurant, with excellent seafood, but we felt it was just a little too quiet there, almost solemn. So we preferred going to Noirmoutier to have dinner in more animated and "younger" places. The manager is very friendly and helpful. All in all good value for money.
