This lodge, with its excellent location in an old fort at the Eastern end of Etosha, is run by the same group as Okaukejo Resort located in West Etosha and should have received a much better rating.
Unfortunately, there is no similarity to Okaukejo and the whole place was a great disappointment. The management, if on site, were totally invisible with the result that the staff, whilst pleasant enough, were in a world of their own.
The absolute disgrace was the fetid green swimming pool covered in insect larvae. When we came to check out and get our key deposit back, we finally found someone who admitted that they had run out of "the chemical" but who did not know why the circulation pump was not switched on.
The good news is that the ramparts are an excellent place to enjoy a sundowner and the restaurant serves reasonable food.
The waterhole needs a rethink as its layout is not condusive to attracting game into viewing range.
