I first have to say, my daughters, ages 7 & 10, have never stayed at a bed & breakfast before. Their first experience here at the Bayview was a FANTASTIC one! Our room was really quaint and overlooked the main street of Mackinac. It had a queen bed & a twin bed - the girls thought that the extra twin bed was really cool and they took turns sleeping in it because they both wanted the "special" bed! What makes this place truly amazing and worth returning over and over though, is the staff. They were so good to us and SO good to my daughters - Harold, Rose, Arlene, Angie & Romain truly made us feel like family. They were warm and friendly and helpful, and I could go on & on, they were just truly the nicest people ever! Our second favorite part of staying here was the FOOD! Oh my goodness was it delicious - the hot breakfasts every morning (peach french toast, cheesy potatoes, fresh fruit) and the homemade desserts every night (the strawberry shortcake and cheesecake were TO DIE FOR!) and the staff, being the warm hearted people they are, heard my girls talking about how much they liked chocolate cake and brownies, made a chocolate cake one night just for them!! This was such a great experience, we loved it here and can't wait to come back!!

We stated at the Bay View to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Because we came very early in May, we took advantage of their offer to stay 3 nights for the cost of 2. The large lemon-colored cottage sits on the lake with amazing views of the harbor right out our window. We were on room 208. The room was small with a pedestal sink in the room. We didn't mind the small space at all.

Each morning we were served a delicious breakfast served by very attentive staff. Each evening we were served yummy desserts between 8-9:00. We anticipated what delicacy was coming next each morning and evening!

I would highly recommend this beautiful B & B!!

Beautiful and the perfect location. Just very slightly out of town makes for a nice brief walk, but still calm enough to relax nicely in the evening. Room 201 has 2 views and is a nice size for an old B&B. Beds and pillows were very comfortable (I'm picky) Evening desserts and breakfasts were fantastic! Kitchen staff very welcoming and nice. House coffee was fantastic. Very clean, although I thought the maintenace of the B&B would have been better (granted we were there at the very end of the season), I'm sure they do their maintenance in the off season. It is expensive, but we would probably stay their again. It's everything we thought it was going to be. RECOMMENDED!

my husband and i stayed in room 208 for two nights while we were in town for a wedding. our room was very small, but clean, quiet, and decorated nicely. this room also had a small view of the water. we had a very busy weekend planned so the size of the room wasn't a big deal, although a few gripes we had about it-no closet, no iron, no counter space around the sink at all.

i had heard so much about the "amazing" breakfasts and coffee served each morning, so i was eager to go down to the dining area in the morning. the actual dining room is very pretty. loved sitting next to the windows and people/ferry watching. we were not blown away by the food. the first day omelets were on the menu. it was filled with what appeared to be processed american cheese and little cubes (ew) of ham. nothing special at all...this was NOT a gourmet meal. i was anticipating higher quality. the second morning a quiche was on the menu, same story, same ingredients. the coffee was okay, i still paid a visit to starbucks (sorry bay view).

i wouldn't call our stay here negative, but for the money i was expecting much more.
