We were staying here for a few months while we close on our home... We were told to leave because they couldn't clean our rooms... It was BS.... We were told by an employee that the real reason was, that we were getting the room at half the price thru price line and they were loosing money. We were paid a week in advance .There hot tub was out of service the entire time we were here (40 days). And there free Breakfast consists of doughnuts from QD.... Being a Retired Marine I wouldn't Recommend any Vets to stay here. It shows what happens when a foreigner buys an american hotel. We've stayed at Days Inn all over the country and will Never stay at Days Inn ever again. I will do my best to discourage anyone from staying at Days Inn ( M-43 in Lansing Michigan especially )

Getting There: Traffic delays due to Construction on Saginaw street.
Front Desk: Hotel Staff not friendly and slow.
Outside Appearance: Tall Grass and Weeds on the outer edge on the property. Landscaping was poor and incomplete.
Inside Appearance: Carpet Worn and Stained. Furniture Worn and appeared old. Hotel air was stale and musty. Lots of incomplete painting inside and out.
Pool: Jacuzzi was closed due to repair. Pool is not enclosed, so some guest did complain about the noise.
The Room: Room was dirty, so we had to change to another room. Had to move from 1st Floor to 2nd Floor. In the 2nd room, we had lamps that did not work. The A/C unit did not work properly. I report the problems to the front desk. But no one came to check the lamps or the A/C unit.
Pets: The hotel allowed pets in the rooms. This was a plus for my family.
Breakfast: Standard Continental Breakfast was fine.
Area next to Swimming Pool: This area had Pool-tables and Trees. Leaves littered this area.

My girlfriend and I stayed here 1 night in June, 2011. We got there a little early and we were still able to check in. The staff was friendly, but busy due to a wedding being held in the main lobby/reception area. The room was clean and comfortable. They had a happy hour with free apps and 2 free drinks each which was great before we went out on the town.
My only complaint has nothing to do with the hotel, but with all the construction on the main road.

There are several hotels nearby. DO NOT STAY HERE. The place is filthy. The atrium leaks when it rains, so the hotel probably has mold throughout (it smells that way at least). It leaks into the pool, even, which can't be healthy after water leaks down the dirty roof and through rust. Because it was raining in the atrium they put breakfast away early saying "we're just putting it away since it's over at 10". This was just after 9am. The fire alarm went off several times at around 2am, a false alarm. The front desk staff are impolite, and don't seem to know what they are doing. The pool area is very loud and distrubing. I even saw another reviewer complain that the machines don't have soda, and they didn't when I was there, either. Renovations will not help this hotel. This place should be torn down and they should just start all over.
