“Would stay here again”

We stayed here in Nov 2011. This was our second trip to Frankenmuth, so we were familiar w/ the hotel's location. The rooms were clean and adequate. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was in need of a little updating, but still fine. The hotel is a little walk from the main shops. The breakfast was surprisingly good. They had fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles etc.
The workout room was very small and the pool was standard. We didn't use either.
The staff really try to accommodate the guests needs. They went out if their way to make sure we had a "quiet" room and various items we requested for my 1yr old.

“Great hotel, easy walk to downtown area.”

Excellent staff. Manager was very helpful and easy to work with for last minute room changes. Room clean and stocked. Pool area clean and hot tub was great after a long shopping day at outlets. Included breakfast bar had lots of choices and staff kept it clean, well stocked and bussed out tables while we relaxed over coffee. I would stay again.

“Pleasant stay”

We booked 2 rooms here for Thanksgiving night and treated our daughter and son-in-law to a mini vacation after Thanksgiving dinner at Zehnder's. My husband is a Marriott Platinum member and both rooms were upgraded to the larger rooms with sofabed, microwave, and small fridge. Everything was clean and in good condition, as expected, and our bed was comfortable. I liked the brighter colors of the room and the large flat screen tv was nice. The internet connection was excellent, faster than most hotels we've been in. But since a hotel page didn't come up as it normally does when I signed on, I wondered if we were getting the signal from the library that is across the street. Nearly all the main atractions/shops in Frankenmuth are within an easy walk, with the exception of Bronner's. Breakfast was the standard Fairfield Inn fare. . . waffles, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juice, etc. The desk staff were very friendly and efficient. I thought the price was a bit high for a Fairfield - $149 plus taxes/fees - but it seems to be the norm in Frankenmuth during busier seasons. Overall, if we were going to stay overnight in the area in the future I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this Fairfield Inn.

“A honest descent hotel for a great first-time stay in Frankenmuth!”

Me and my wife stayed at the Fairfield Inn Frankenmuth on November 18 - 19, 2011. This was my first time to Frankenmuth, and the wife's second time from when she was younger. Overall, we loved going together as a couple to the city and we wished we could've had a full day and a half to spend there, but 1 day sufficed.

The hotel itself is somewhat of a standard Fairfield by Marriott that you would see anywhere in the U.S., as we originally trying staying at the Springhill Suites in Frankenmuth but it was sold out.

We stayed in a King Whirlpool Suite which was about 5 dollars more than a standard King Suite at Springhill which is literally right down the road. The total cost for a "weekend rate" stay (1 night friday night) with taxes and all this occupancy tax nonsense came out to $182 booked directly through the Marriott site. We didn't have a chance to really shop it on orbitz/travelocity/etc..as this was a spur of the moment last minute getaway.

Great things about the hotel:
1. Rooms were a little more modernized, with a flat screen, sitting area, and a pretty good sized 2 person whirlpool tub which was nice.
2. The hotel itself is within absolute awesome walking distance of everything, except for bronner's which could be a little of a hike on a super cold, or super hot day!
3. A BIG PLUS was that it was DIRECTLY across the street from the Frankenmuth Brewery which had awesome beers, and a really good food selection!
4. The morning breakfast is from 6-10 a.m., and its your typical continental with juices, yogurts, cereals, milk, bagels, bread for toast, jams/jellies, cream cheese, as well as jimmy dean egg/sausage sandwiches to heat up in the microwave, and also waffles that you were able to make. The 2 attendants were constantly replenishing, and cleaning up the eating area and WERE SUPER FRIENDLY. Those two definitely made our stay really quite nice with their service, smiles, and hospitality.

Room for improvement:
1. Cleanliness of rooms were a tad bit off, especially the glob of hair that came out from the whirlpool tub, and a little mold in the shower..nothing that derailed our stay as we really enjoyed Frankenmuth.

Overall:
We will definitely be back to Frankenmuth as its a delightful city which is such an easy to get to escape for us on a random spur of the moment weekend. We will try the Merv Herzog (spelling) hotel next time for a spring/summer stay as they had balconies which I think in the rear overlooked the river, as well as to have a stay at the Springhill Suites to do a compare and contrast to the Fairfield. However, if we had to, we would definitley choose the Fairfield again, but only as a 2nd or 3rd option.

Cheers!

“Very nice property”

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn during my annual shopping trip to Frankenmuth in November. I have seen this hotel every year I visit Frankenmuth but had never stayed there, I will stay here again should my trip require an overnight. The room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfy and I felt perfectly safe staying there alone. Only minor issues that could be improved-get better cable. As it was election night that I stayed there, I assumed there would be coverage on tv, but to have most channels that were available dedicated to news or sports was a bit much. The hot water in the tub comes on when you turn the knob to cold and the cold water comes on when you turn to hot. I did inform the front desk of this when I checked out so hopefully it'll be fixed for the next guest. Why some hotels are going with the square pillows instead of regular size bed pillows is beyond me, I wish they would return to the regular ones, sleeping on 6 square pillows was a bit annoying. Also, the ice machine on the 3rd floor was quite noisy when it was running, I can't imagine how loud it is to be in a room right next to it. The breakfast room was well kept; clean and well stocked. The attendant was very nice and the selection was usual continental breakfast foods. The hotel location is excellent for walking into town and shopping. Had it not been pouring down rain, I would have taken advantage of this. .

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the 3rd floor ice machine-way too noisy.
