There's not much bad to say about this hotel. The stay was very enjoyable. The rooms were clean. The lakeview was very nice, though I'm not sure I would necessarily pay for it again. If you want to view Lake Superior, just walk to the area adjacent to the lake to get a better view, considering the windows weren't huge, and there wasn't any balcony in the room we stayed in. It is conveniently located. The Porcupine Mountains are easily accessed from there, as is the Keweenaw Peninsula. The hotel does charge for breakfast, so there is no free continental breakfast.

We are really impressed with the staff and how they handled a couple of issues that we had with our room. We stayed for several nights and put up with an aweful bed. It was very uncomfortable and very stained. The shower head was also acting up. We finally decided to say something to the front desk staff after a couple of nights since we were to the point of discussing not coming back when we visit the family next time. Well, they really took our feedback to heart and acted immediately to correct the situation. They put in brand new beds and replaced the shower head. I guess we were staying in the older section of the hotel and the beds were scheduled to get replaced at some point in time but it was really great of them to do this right away. They certainly made us feel like valued guests and we plan on staying here again next time due to their hospitality. I believe it was Heather at the front desk who really took care of us. The pool was very clean and the kids enjoyed it for hours. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was great with very generous portions. Prices were very reasonable as well. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting Baraga or L'Anse. You can't beat the view from their lakeview rooms.

We chose to stay here one night since it was located between Munising and the Porcupine Mountains. The views of Lake Superior from the hotel are very nice and there are several chairs for guests to use. That's the biggest thing this hotel has going for it since the town itself has almost nothing else to offer. (Your dining options are either to eat at the hotel, get pizza, or drive to the next town). The hotel itself is a fairly typical Best Western. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was good and the pool was fine also. The luggage carts are very annoying since all 4 wheels can turn which make it hard to move it in a straight line.

Although we are not big fans of the Best western motel chain, my wife and I have stayed at the Lakeside Inn several times in the past while visiting family in Michigan'sUP. Our most recent stay was again a winner. This place has it all at a reasonable price- quiet rooms,comfortable beds, friendly staff, WONDERFUL views across the bay, very clean rooms and common areas and a very good retaurant. It obviously is a well run establishment and unquestionably the best of its kind in the area! It will remain our "home away from home" on our visits to this area.
