“Sorry about the downhill quality of the old Northside”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We have stayed at the Northside for many, many years and this was our worst experience ever since it changed hands a few years ago and prices went up. Although our room was musty but clean, there was a huge camper in the parking lot which was left running all day, every day for the three weekend days we were there. Spewing diesel fuel fumes and incredible noise into the air right outside our room - the motel owner told us it would stop but it never did. We were informed that no one else was bothered by this. Don't stay here without a gas mask and earplugs. Oh, yes, and internet only in the dining room. A decent breakfast comes with the room

“Awful.”

This hotel raised it's rates 200% when the Solid Sound music festival came to town. The room we are in was unbelievable. Dark, dingy, musty. Archaic. Shades, curtains and the bedspreads are all ripped. Lamp shades are stained. How does a lampshade get stained? How are they getting away with this? (I know, because chumps like me pay the rates.) I would never, ever recommend this place. Boy at the front desk was nice.

“Cheap, Great Location, but Barebones”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

The Northside has a great location compared to other Williamstown motels. It is on the Williams campus, in walking distance to any attraction in town. The rooms are spartan, poorly decorated and needed to be updated 20 years ago. However, the rooms are clean and very inexpensive, which is in stark contrast to the dirty, overpriced Williams Inn next store. There are nicer motels in Williamstown, but if you are looking for a great location and don't plan to spend much time in your room, the Northside is a good value.

“Poor internet, no coffee in room, old TV's, cheap redecoration, no privacy with front curtains..."”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

Poor internet access, often lost connection. Bathroom tiny, smells like humid locker room. Curtains but no shades so either have light/air or no privacy as people walking by can see in room. TV very old- not flat screen. Breakfast food cheap- like truck stop choices- cold cereal, styrofoam cups, packaged food. Redo seemed to be only putting in ugly patterned rug. Fridge but no coffee machine or microwave in room. Very disappointing. Walls thin, woken up by next room conversation. Baking soda container under bed!

Room Tip: Close to college but not worth it- look further.

“Not the best place but hey the price was cheaper than our taxi cab to the airportm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2011

Great value and great location. Hey the rooms aren't that great but honestly look what your paying. You get 2 beds that are clean and pretty comfortable and a clean, hot shower. What else do you need
