“Hidden Gem of the Cape”

I'm not one to write reviews however we were compelled to do so on this trip. We had no idea what to expect upon arriving to Cape Cod. When we pulled up to the Chatham Tides hotel we were very pleased with the setting. The rooms were VERY CLEAN and well kept. The Bathrooms are small, but we expected that from what we read.

When we come back to the Cape, we WILL stay here again. It was very quite, cozy, yet lots to do around it. LOVED IT.

“Convenient location on the beach”

Rooms are on the small side and somewhat dated but everything was spotless. King bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have the mini-kitchen. Sundeck with ocean view was relaxing and it was a stroll down to the private beach. Short bike ride to the bike trail.

“Didn't want to leave!”

We were scheduled to stay for 6 days but once there extended it to 10! Yes the rooms may be slightly outdated, the shower may be small, and the decks may be slightly aged but for the price ON THE CAPE, ocean front, you can't beat it. The hotel is set way back in a neighborhood and the layout leaves every room with an incredible view of the Sound. The waves lulled me to sleep. Another review mentioned shells. I'm all for walking barefoot with little to no shells but the water was warm and a pair of water shoes takes care of everyhing. The owners and their employees were wonderful, helpful, and friendly. Every morning the beach was raked of seaweed and the windows were washed several days during our stay there! I've only seen this on a cruise. They particularly washed the ocean front windows after a windy night that blew sea water mist on them. There are small charcoal grills that you can borrow so there's no need to spend expensively on food. Yes the fridge is a bigger dorm size but it is definitely workable. They provide dishes, silverware, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, pots and pans, glasses. I've been to Hyatts, Marriotts, and many resorts that overall may be less expensive (in places like to Dominican) and may have more ammenities than Chatham Tides, but this is the Cape, it's generally not a full year business opportunity for any owners so the price is reasonable and not out of touch with other hotels in the area. Can't wait to go back!

“great, quiet place to stay with fabulous views of ocean”

In reference to the review from a Pennsylvania group dated Sept. 26, 2010, this review is totally unfair to the Chatham Tides Motel and its owners. We are the owners of rental property next door who happened to be staying that night. We tolerated loud noise from 10-midnight. From midnight-1 more joined the party which was fueled by alcohol. Swearing was also taking place. Our renters with young children could not sleep. After we and the owner next door asked them to quiet down, with no results, WE were the ones to call the police twice to get the situation under control. On the second appearance by the police they were told to take the party inside or people would be taken to the station.

“Disappointing”

First - we stayed in a ocean front room and had the smallest shower ever seen - my friends camper has a bigger shower! Sink was 4" deep, frig was dorm size and no microwave!
Second - police were called when friends were sitting outside talking in front of their room after midnight. The group I was with were the majority of those staying at the hotel and the owners called the police. Just to preface this, the majority of the group are over 60 years old. When the conversation did not move inside , the police were called back!
