“Family Visit over Thanksgiving”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

The units were spotless and tasetfully decorated. The manager was friendly and accomodating. The Inn is a very good value for the money. There are various types and sizes of rooms to fit every situation. We stayed in the bigger rooms 118 and 119 with the gas fireplaces which were a nice touch. We would definetly stay again next year. They only negative thing is the need for upgrading the TV's. Being from the area and returning home for the holiday, the Inn is in a good location, quiet, easy access to 95, Newburyport, and Beaches. I would recommend for all ages and families.

Room Tip: Descriptions on the web site are very good depictions so decide from the pictures what space you nee...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! It was an absolute pleasure to read about your stay and we cannot wait to see your family again! And when you revisit, you'll be pleased to see the brand new 32" flatscreen televisions we've installed in rooms 118, 119, & 120! Best regards, Chris Freeman, Manager

“Best little inn/motel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

I stayed at the Country Garden Inn in Rowley for a wedding recently. What a great little place! There were over 15 people from the wedding staying there so we got a good peak at most of the rooms. Yes some were very small, and some of the bathrooms were teenie tiny (room 109- I'm looking at you) - but those were the cheapest rooms available so it really wasn't a surprise. The other rooms were all nicely sized for an inn and nicely appointed. Every room we went in was impeccably clean. The cleanest I've ever stayed in. We were in one of the townhouses and you couldn't ask for a better room. Private, huge, and of course a HUGE hot tub! The only room we saw that had a fatal flaw was room 117. The double sided fireplace in the room affords no privacy to someone sitting on the toilet, as you can see right thru to the bedroom. But if you're not the shy type, the room itself is very pretty. This is NOT a chain hotel, so you shouldn't go in expecting what you'd expect from a chain. All the bathrooms were fully stocked with soaps, lotions, even make-up towels and the little coffee area had a full compliment of what you'd need to get a morning cup of joe, and there is wi-fi available that worked fine for me. The rooms have character and each is different so ask questions before you book if you're looking for a certain size room or feel. We found that if you just ask, they'll supply what you need. We changed reservations about 30 times while booking all the guests and they were very accommodating. The cleanliness far exceeds anything I've experienced at a chain and the coziness of the inn is perfect for a romantic getaway. Overall 5 stars, but make sure you ask about your room size before you book so that you get what you want. We'll be going back every chance we get.

“Proposal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Proposed to my girlfriend in one of their suites and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Rose petals,
fruit, cheese and cracker tray and a chilled bottle of champagne. She said "YES"! We will be back on our anniversary!

“Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We checked in later than we planned and the owner was very accommodating. Very helpful. The stay was wonderful and the room was nice. It did get stuffy inside, but then we just opened the windows or turned on the air. The price was a bit high, and the breakfast was fine; it had all the necessary items. We loved the location, very central for the things we had planned. I would visit the Country Garden Inn again.

“Lacking”

The cottages are a great idea except for the skylights with no shades. I really wasn't planning to be awoken at dawn every morning of my vacation. It is absurd that there is no option to darken the room. On the service front, staff were very nice but consistently late to open for breakfast each day so we just went without. The inn is a nice option if you get a room with no skylight. As well, they would be wise to turn on the A/C in the room when they know quests are expected so that it's not 100 degrees and stuffy when you check in.

It's truly unfortunate that the reviewer didn't enjoy their stay back in May. Most people enjoy the skylights and sleep as late as they want without a problem. We address all concerns expeditiously and wish the reviewer brought up these concerns with us in person, when it could have been resolved. I know the reveiwer was upset, but we serve a morning reception (not a full breakfast) from 9am-11am every day and have never seen it served late. It's the first thing we do when we open for the day and every guest is told at check-in where and when it's served. One final note is that we turn on air conditioning units one hour before check-in on hot days. We do try to accommodate early check-ins, however the room may not have time to cool down properly. Once again, holding onto a negative experience for three or four months is unfortunate, especially when the solution could have been resolved during the visit. If there is anything more we can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact the front desk.
