Unit #14 is in the basement of a building across the street from the building that has water views. This room has no view. Walking up to the room the first thing we noticed was the screen door was missing the full length screen -it was just a flimsy aluminum door with a big open hole in the middle -very unattractive. Walking into the room a musty basement odor hit us and we immediately regretted our decision to stay there. Even though the window A/C and a large dehumidifier were running we went around the unit and opened the 6 windows (3 of which were crank out windows that only opened 1/2 way out into the parking area) hoping to air the room out. The musty smell lingered throughout the whole stay and was a little overwhelming. Our clothes and luggage absorbed the smell. All of our clothing whether worn or not had to be washed and the luggage had to be aired out after we got home. The decor in the room was the complete opposite of bright and beachy. The unit was dark with old colonial styled furniture and a large worn red area rug in the middle. The mattress on the bed was uncomfortable, old and it had a hard edge around it -climbing into bed or sitting on the bed you could feel it. The bedding however, was clean and in nice condition. There were visible plumbing pipes running along the ceiling and the ceiling was very low in some areas -anyone taller than 5'10" would have trouble walking around in the unit and taking a shower. The coffee maker had a pink slime in the water reservoir -so we did not use it. The whole unit could have used a floor to ceiling thorough cleaning. If they painted the unit some lighter colors, replaced the furniture with something brighter and more of what you would expect to see in a beach vacation home it would be a little less depressing. I'm not sure what they can do about the smell though. There was no sound proofing and we could hear people walking around and muffled conversations from other units. To see the ocean you had to walk across the street to the main building. There were steps leading down to the beach but during high tide the water was right up to the wall and several steps were under water. They had their own homemade beach area next to the lawn which was small but nice enough. The management seemed nice. Parking is confusing -there are numbered spots and some privately owned spots but people seemed to park wherever they could -it didn't matter if the number on the spot matched your unit or not. Due to limited spaces parking was VERY tight -when full there is just enough room to walk between the cars. Do not park here if you have a problem with other cars parking 12" from your car. Walking into to town took about 5 minutes. I don't think we will stay here again.

Room tip: Make sure you are getting a unit that is not on the basement level and is on the water side.

Immediately upon arrival we felt the warm and cosy feeling that the premises make you experience at Bayshore. We were two persons on a 5 years anniversary holiday and we had booked the studio via TripAdvisor. The location of the place which is at the top of charming PROVINCETOWN (MA), with a private portion of the lovelybeach and scenery of the Cape Cod, was Home away from Home. The staff was extemely friendly and the the unit was cosy, clean and completely fully furnished. The center of town with all its restaurants, coffee bars, art galleries areless than a mile away from Bayshore andif you geta bit lazy or tired towalk back you can always hire a "Pedicab"
(a bycicle riksha version) which is a charming expeience by itself.
Amazing place!!!

Room tip: The ground floor is perfect for a romantic stay.

My husband, 16 year old son and I stayed at the “beach house” property at the Chandler House on Commercial St. We really enjoyed staying here. It is a small one bedroom (attached) cottage with kitchenette, full bathroom, small living room and wonderful waterside deck. This is the best location of all because it’s on the water, WITH a parking spot, it is at the quiet East End of PTown and yet still walkable and bike-able to everything. The cottage is small but adorable and filled with modern yet quaint touches. The bedroom has an air conditioner, ceiling fan and storage drawers within the bed. There are nautical style sliding doors separating the bedroom from the bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom is quite modern with corner toilet, glass tiled shower, large shower head, stainless steel “bowl” sink and tilting mirror. There is a port hole in the kitchen that looks into the bedroom. The kitchenette is filled with more gadgets and serve-ware than you could ever think of using. In the living room, there is a comfortable pull out couch, WORKING fireplace, reading nook, small table with 4 chairs and sliding glass door out to the deck. And the deck is what makes it so special – right over the water and gorgeous views of PTown harbor and the whole bay. There is a small table and 2 chairs along with 2 lounge chairs on your private deck. There are also 4 more lounge chairs on the shared deck next to the cottage and 2 high top tables with chairs for enjoying snacks and drinks. You can’t ask for more!! The cottage is ideal for 2 people - a third makes it essential to use the pull out couch which limits space in the open area, but we made do for a 3 night stay. One minor complaint – there was a mattress pad for the pull out bed that was covered in some kind of pet hair. I brought it to the attention of the manager and they brought us a new one immediately. All in all, a wonderful stay – the property owner / managers are really doing something right. We would come back here in a heartbeat. Three things would have made our stay all the more perfect:
A hair dryer – I never bring one along on trips because mostly all hotels and rental properties supply one. I would have brought my own if I had known there wouldn’t be one.
There was a TV in the family room but it was very small and it was not cropped properly – parts of the screen were cut off and viewing was impaired. I know you shouldn’t be watching TV while visiting the cape, but we are football fans and were watching a little of the Sunday evening game on opening weekend.
There is a set of large, iron stackable coffee tables in the living room. It is hard to move them and being made of iron, they are leaving rust stains on the carpet. They are just unnecessary to such a small unit.

The room, view, friendliness of staff, just about everything was perfect...and the VIEW, all I can say is wow. We were fortunate because somebody cancelled and we stayed for one week... If you are lucky enough to get a room here there is no disappointment, incredible place!

Stayed at Unit# 10 for a long weekend. The unit itself was perfect and cozy. It had all the necessary kitchen equipment, a nice sized bedroom and bathroom, and the view of the bay was perfect in the morning with a cup of coffee. The location is located within walkable distance to restaurants and shops and a coffeehouse. We will surely be back to stay at this location.
