“Perfect place to stay in Newburyport!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2011

Great place to stay, the inn is beautiful, the owner Bob is very nice, the rooms are spacious and the bathroom was huge. Loved that the television was hidden in a cabinet so it wouldn't detract from the overall uniqueness of the rooms. Only thing that really could be improved was the bed in our room seemed to sag a bit towards the middle. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay and we will be back!
Thank you!

Room Tip: Call the inn directly and talk to Bob.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

We stayed in a room with wall to wall carpeting that was ancient and buckled and we had no air conditioning as it was removed from the window. It was hot and the old carpet made it uncomfortable to breathe. These quaint inns are lovely, but the old antiques everywhere collect dust no matter how clean the inn and it is bad for your health. The mattresses and pillows were of poor quality making sleep difficult as noted in other reviews. We stayed out as much as possible to get fresh air. With a small Investment and attention to quality, this inn would be very nice. Newburyport could really use a small, new boutique hotel with a spa and/or pool. It has such a lovely downtown.

“Cute house”

Unfortunately the mattress was very hard and it was difficult to get much needed sleep.

“I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2010

My husband and I stayed there the night of April 29, 2010, but wish we could have stayed longer. It is such a great place to stay, comfortable, amazingly clean (the owner, Bob Nolan, was doing everything by himself at the time, and he was incredibly busy, but EVERYTHING was done beautifully) We were in the Currier Room, a very comfortable, cozy room that was very true to its colonial heritage, but with all the modern amenities one could ask for. And if we needed anything, Bot was right there to get it for us, in spite of his being so busy.
We had the continental breakfast Friday morning, and again, Bob did a beautiful job and put out an excellent, very tasty breakfast that was filling and delicious. He is very friendly and informative, giving suggestions as to where to go and what to do. He has an excellent knowledge of the area history and gives great recommendations of places to go, see and eat.

I have been going to Newburyport for many years, but I had never heard of nor seen this treasured gem of a Bed and Breakfast. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a high class place to stay, but with comfort and relaxation at the same time. The rates are very reasonable for the service you get; we were able to get a wonderful room for a special off-season rate, which made us feel very special. We both agree that next time we visit Newburyport, we will difinitely stay at the Clark/Currier Inn.

Thanks, Bob Nolan, for a wonderful time!

“Comfy B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2008

After stopping in Newburyport for lunch, we discovered a very quaint little town, so we decided to stay for a day. Tourist info booth recomended a couple of places and we visited 3 before choosing this one. Good choice. Quiet area an B&B. Our ground floor room was ideal and good size. price at 125 was good. Bathroom small with shower only, but clean and suited us. TV hides in cabinet at end of bed and comes up when needed. Lots of window allows for good ventilation, since there no A/C. Breakfast offering was limited and could be more interesting. Innkeeper nice but a little shy. Price point was good at $125, bed comfortable and location is within 5 min walk from town center and nice boutiques. We would recommend to friends and go back..
