I've been coming here since 2000 but ONLY because my husband has been coming here since the 80s and he loves the sentimentality of the place. This location is great because the neighborhood is clean, a nice place to walk and there's a beach across the street. I like that there's a WalMart five minutes away because you can always get your essentials in a quick trip.
However the amenities here are lacking. The rooms have come a long way since my first visit in 2000 but they still don't earn the title of "resort". They have more than most motels turn "resort" but that does not say much. Rooms are small but they have a kitchenette with a mini stove, sink and mini fridge. The decor is cute and nautical themed but the Murphy beds are not comfy. The bathrooms finally received a major upgrade this year! They have been completely renovated and are clean and modern. (Finally a bathroom fan and granite!)
Amenities include a community kitchen and laundry room. But this is one of those outdoor motels so anything you need you will have to step outside. So if it's raining when you need something from the office, well...
I used to think this place was terrible until I visited other similar "resorts" and I have to admit that Mariner's Point is definitely cleaner and more festive than the rest.More
