“Great customer service”

The rooms were clean, the staff was superb and the hot breakfast in the morning was very good. I travel quite a bit we stayed here for one night to attend my nieces baby shower. The hotel staff was the best very accommodating. Also, the fresh baked cookies are a hit. Keep up the good work. The only complaint I have is the heating unit is very loud had to shut it off during the night.

“Good Value for Washington Baltimore area”

We be ole folks, so excuse any grammatical, arthritic typing errors.
We travel a lot. thus wife and I know good service when we see it, from diamond quality and five star to just somewhere to sleep-off-the-highway. We needed comfort near Washington D.C.
From the time we arrived, the service at Waldorf Country Inn & Suites By Carlson proved excellent. We got in from Dulles around three o'clock a.m. having been lost. Our room was ready.Bathrooms, modern with coffee pot (so many have done away with that), and accessible for us ole folk.
Coffee in the lobby as well as tea. when we needed instructions, the front desk management, Theresa (spelling) and Kim, later, readily printed such out for the next days. A daily free newspaper is available.
The internet room-which was free was still open. There was a gym, exercise room and pool also available for use, although we old folks could not negotiated same.
Having traveled as a former professional musician and later as a lawyer, I would rank accomodations right up there with the old Waldorf Astoria in the '70s, and the Los Angeles Biltmore (before Milleniumn das).
Evelyn (thin that's the pantry lady) fare was filling--also included, in the mornings,w ith a large screen tv on to fil us in with the days news and even weather.
Housekeeping staff, Amelia (supervisor) and Maria--ready to fulfill your wishes. But the kicker? A relatively inexpensive laundromat at the end of the hall on the first floor. Quiet, too!
We hope nobody else discovers this gem before we get back, which we definitely shall.

Washington travel note: It took some time, but we had to discover the Branch Ave metro station (about 30 minutes up the road).A gas station is right behind the motel, which has safe parking.
Oh a bonus--Walmart about 1/8 mile across the street (open till about midnight). Other large stores-- about 5 miles away, Staples, CVS (This is the South, where a country block is a country block). If one doesn't mind being out of Washington someways, this is a definite yes! YES! YES!
WARNING-AVOID FLYING INTO DULLES. Quite difficult to negotiate the highways to Waldorf. Reagan would be preferable.

Room Tip: Rent a car. Metro about 30 minutes away (Branch Ave station-end of the line), Watch the parkway free...

“Just okay, would not return”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

Stayed here for two nights through a Hotwire.com deal. Hotwire rated this hotel as a 3-star hotel, which it is not! We had a room with 2 queen beds -- it was a standard room - nothing to write home about. The biggest problem is that every time the room above us used their bathroom we could hear the plumbing! I could also hear them moving around. I was up all night -- it drove me nuts, especially hearing the toilet flushing or the shower running. It did have an indoor pool but it was so warm in there, it was hard to stay in there for a long period to watch my kids swim in the pool.

Room Tip: If you stay here, ask for a room on the top floor!

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

This was my 1st time ever staying in a Country Inn & Suites chain. The check in staff was nice and the room was surprisingly large for a budget hotel. There was a considerable amount of open floor space and a lack of furniture. There was a Queen Anne chair but no foot stool which could easily fit. My parents were also staying here and in their room a King there was a foot stool. I had a room with 2 queens. The hotel shares a parking lot with the Comfort Suites across the way. We were there for a large family reunion so we had people in both hotels.

There is a breakfast in the morning. Its your typical continental with a waffle machine. The room itself was hot and stuffy and crowded. We ended up eating in our rooms (would have been nice to have a table) For reference the breakfast is EXACTLY the same across the street but the area is larger.

I didn't have any problems with my room and check out was easy enough. The room was clean, which is always nice, but there were no blankets. I know this is the middle of summer but having only the bedspread which i always remove the moment i get in any hotel regardless of hos nice it is was just unacceptable. I found 2 lightweight blankets in the closet above the room safe. The room door was strange. We were in the end room but the door did not close behind us. If you opened the door it stayed open, and had to be pulled shut when you left.

Room Tip: Get a room on the end of the hall so you don't have to hear foot traffic.
