“ok for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

New looking lobby and breakfast area. Free breakfast was nice. Love the waffle maker. The non smoking bedroom smelled like smoke. Matress covers, check, No bedbugs, check. Found ice maker up two flights, check. Salisbury is not a place that is on my places to vacation. It served its purpose to set my head on a pillow for a night. Friendly front dessk folks. Average stay.

“Smelly/dirty/gross!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

The whole place stinks of cigarette smoke as soon as you come in the building. You can tell that overnight they try to cover it up but it is in everything...even the stairwells. All the rooms are marked non-smoking, too! It is gross! Also...lifted the toilet seat up for my son and there was a long black strand of hair hanging over the bowl. GROSS! Breakfast was stale and well...gross! Will

“Warning Stay Away Bed Bugs there And Bad Customer Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

I witness the bed bugs from another guest camera phone i was so nervous i checked my bed thank goodness it had mattress covers. Anyhow my main complaint is the customer service they shut the pool down and took the umbrellas off the tables knowing we had a preschedule bbq for a charity and didnt tell us until we checked in ,the whole pool was covered up. It also rain that day and we was shunned away when we asked if we could bring the food the breakfast sitting area. The cleaning guy under arm smelled up the room i wanted to spray some deoderant under his arms how are your cleaning the room and stinking it up at the same time. Bottom line if you want a place just to shower , change clothes and leave its ok otherwise make a beeline to the left and go to another hotel theres no indoor pool or jacuzzi, watered down apple juice and orange juice with medicine cups to drink out its really the Bates Motel.

Room Tip: make sure you get a bed with plastic on the mattress

Dear FDNY,

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay during your groups event. However, all group reservations require a contract. As stated in the contract, use of public areas in the hotel for gatherings are based on the contingency that 60 rooms are reserved and actualized. We carry this policy to ensure that groups fill the majority of the rooms in the hotel. This ensures that groups are able to enjoy their festivities while lessining the chance of disturbance to other guest.

Unfortunately, only 12 rooms were actualized. Therefore we could not authorize use of the public areas causing an inconvenience to other guests. We close our outdoor pool on the same date every year and your group coordinator was previously notified of the closure. The pool area was offered for your guests staying at our hotel, but due to bad weather and high winds, we had to remove the umbrellas to ensure they would not blow away causing injury to guest or damaging their vehicles. Our primary concern is the safety and comfort of all of our guests.

We think that it is great that yur organization is contributing to charities and that you were able to raise funds during your visit. It is hard to facilitate such functions with bad weather. It was also unfortunate that your group coordinator was not able to stay at the hotel during your groups event. In the future, I would recommend ensuring that your guest will actualize the contracted amount of rooms. In the industry, discounted group rates are often contingent on the amount of rooms actualized. However, in sight of your charitable event we did not raise your rates.

I do hope that you will allow us the opportunity of providing you with a beeter experience on your next visit. If you decide to return next year for OC Bike Week, please feel free to call me directly to make your reservations. Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,
Nilesh Patel

“Clean hotel. Nice price. Friendly Staff. Not too far from O.C.”

We have stayed at this hotel once before and it was just as nice the second time. The staff was friendly upon check-in and check-out. The price is decent and you are about 25 mins or so from O.C. We have stayed in Ocean City before at different hotels, but we feel it is not worth the price with all of the run-down hotels you can pay upwards of $200/nite there. There are a few fast food restaurants/gas station close. Small pool but does the trick for the kids. Room was a basic, clean room fine for two adults/2 children (7 & 11). Shower/bathroom was a bit small but comparable to other hotels. Overall, we were satisfied with the room/staff,and convenience.

“Bed bug discovery!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

I went to this hotel on September 16th with my son and boyfriend. We discovered bed bugs in our beds! We were sleeping and around 2am, we woke to find bed bugs crawling on us. We looked at the mattress by the headboard and we found 5 bugs right at our heads. There were 3 to 4 more crawling on the covers. This was an awful experience. We were moved to another room that was filled with smoke! Needless to say, we will never revisit this hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback . At the Sleep Inn Salisbury, we value all of our guest comments and concerns. I want to ensure all of our past and future guest that our facility is completely bed bug free. After I was notified of the suspected activity, we promptly contacted Erlich Pest Control. After an onsite inspection, we have been assured there are no bed bugs on our property. I have scheduled monthly inspections to ensure a pest free property.

In addition, our staff is trained to spot any evidence of suspect activity. Bed bugs have become a pest to the hospitality industry. They are carried from place to place by travelers. However, if you are at any facility and you notice suspected activity, we do advise that you notify the staff immediately. We are honored to be able to say that we have not had any issues. Our Pest Control Specialist is working closely with our staff to ensure that we remain this way.

Your comfort and satisfaction is our top priority and we are working hard to exceed your expectations. I hope that you will allow us the opportunity to provide you with a better experience at our hotel. Please contact me directly at the hotel to reserve your next stay. We look forward to seeing any past and future guest. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Best Regards,
