“Pretty bad...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

I would agree with the naysayers. Housekeeping was iffy. Tired motel with an outside staircase to a 2nd floor room that gave my daughter the creeps. Among six hotels on a mid-Atlantic college tour, $70 to $120 a night – this one at $80 was the worst value. We always take advantage of free continental breakfasts, but at this motel we opted for a $25 breakfast down the street.

“TripAdvisor Fails...”

The property's a voodoo hellhole, but the staff is so wonderful? You can't get fresh towels in the room but the manager's such a great, wonderful guy? It's a splendid property that's so close to some really great restaurants and local attractions?

Every review of this hotel is suspect . . .

“Hard working manager in a hotel in hard times.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2010

I read the reviews and really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Sadly the poor ratings and descriptions are accurate. The manager is a hardworking guy in a hotel that clearly has problems with certain clientele and maybe an employee or two.
When I arrived at 6:00pm the internet was down and the poor guy was scrambling to get premium customer support. It came up around 3 hours later and the front desk clerk was kind enough to call and let me know. Once running it was fast and solid at 48Mbps.
The layout is from an age when convenience outweighed security . If you get a first floor room you can back your car right up to he door and practically dump your luggage to and from your trunk without getting wet.
The room was 79 degrees with no control of the heat. The thermostat seemed to only control the A/C. It is 57 degrees outside so there is no reason anyone should be running the A/C to be comfortable but there are. I left my door open as long as I could and stuffed towels into the register to reduce the heat. What a waste of energy. .
For two out of the three days my room was cleaned and orderly but somehow on the third night they missed it. I'm a fairly neat guy but still, it would have been nice to have the towels and supplies changed. Oh well...
There is a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. That is very convenient. But if you don't use them they are a waste of space and an annoyance. The refrigerator kept turning on and off throughout the night. Finally I couldn't stand the noise and unplugged it. A while later I was woken by a crash as it defrosted itself and dropped ice chunks on the racks.
If this was a $35 per night hotel, it would be worth it But it isn't.
I wanted to enjoy this place and give it a high rating. I really did. Sadly i cannot

“Very accommodating”

The staff here are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. The rooms are definitely nice for the price. My mom and I are staying here while I am searching for an apartment and have been here for over a week. It is incredibly quiet, there's a nice big pool, they give you a free pass to World Gym just down the street, and free breakfast. There is also a yummy Mexican restaurant right below the hotel. Great place to stay!

1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2010

This place stinks whewwww. No closet. Fire trap. Only one way off the second floor unless you want to jump.

DON'T STAY HERE unless you like living in a smelly, fire hazard!!

YUCK!!! Not worth the 80 bucks.
