“If you don't expect too much, you won't be disappointed.”

Stayed with family this past weekend at this establishment and was slightly disappointed. Having stayed at many Marriotts over the years, this one is subpar at best. The price was somewhat reasonable at $109 a night, but sometimes you get what you pay for I suppose.

First we tried to eat dinner in the restaurant only to find it wasn't open (on a Friday night around 7:00 pm). We were forced to eat in the bar and the food was below average, but alas, the prices were not! Spent more in the bar on a dinner for 5 then I did for the one night stay! And nobody had mixed drinks! The food was outrageously overpriced and wasn't even palatable.

Next the rooms were average, nothing to write home about. The channel changer for the t.v. was actually so worn out you had to guess at the numbers! When I went to use the bathroom I discovered that I was at the end of the toilet paper roll. After looking around I realized that there were absolutely NO spare rolls anywhere to be found! This is entirely unaccapable! I've stayed at Motel 6's that were better stocked! And let's not even talk about the shower curtain that was about a foot too long and hung down into the tub so you pretty much had to touch it and walk on it to take a shower. Gross! How in the world do you not know the length needed for shower curtains in hundreds of rooms?? Besides these atrocities, the tile in the shower had many spots of black mold!!! Ugh!

After I got over my shock and disgust at the bathroom state, I attempted to get some sleep. The beds were okay, not luxurious in any way though like most nice hotels nowadays. After falling asleep I was awakened at 1:00 a.m. to the noise of laughter from somewhere in the hallway. I figured it would stop and the people would mosy to their rooms, but it did not! I heard this partying for 5 or 6 more times in about 1/2 hours time before I decided to get up and go see what was going on. As I opened the door I saw the culprits going into their room across the hall with an ice bucket. So as not to wake my family sleeping in the room I got my shoes on and walked down the hallway to the phone by the elevators and called the front desk to complain about the partying room. I will say they must have phoned them because I didn't hear the noise after that, thank God for small miracles.

I did work out in the gym and it was decent and had plenty of machines, which was nice. There was an indoor pool, but I didn't use it. I did notice they had a lifeguard on duty which I thought was a nice move compared to most hotels.

Overall I was very disappointed at this Marriott. Especially since it was a Marriott. While it wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed, I think by making sure the room is clean and well stocked and everything is in working order would go a long way to bringing up to a more Marriott-like standard. I, personally, won't be staying here again though.

Room Tip: Stay at the Hunt Valley Inn instead!

“Everything the weary traveler needs and appreciates.”

We have stayed at this hotel twice, and both times, everything was exactly as it should be. Convenient location, Speedy checkin, clean rooms and common areas, friendly staff. The hotel restaurant/bar has decent food, and there is a big shopping mall about 1/4 mile away with a wide range of restaurants and stores.

They have both indoor & outdoor pool, a standard fitness studio with 3 treadmills, a bike, multi-use wieghtstack machine, and some excerballs.

In the room, we had the mini coffee-tea selection, hairdryer, and bath & bodyworks toiletries.

I have nothing negative to say about this place. It's not a fancy resort or anything, but they cover everything the weary traveler needs and appreciates.

I recently stayed here (1/24/12). The staff was incredibly friendly, the check in process went incredibly soon and the room was clean, comfortable, etc. Didn't dine in the restaurant and the health center had nice equipment and everything worked well. I'd stay there again!

We enjoyed out stay and this hotel in December 2011. They have a nice pool and hot tub (closes at 10 though).

“Hotel better than restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Choose this hotel due to its low price (79$) and proximity to Towson University. Just a 15 min drive down York rd.. Plenty of parking. Staff at check in were nice and since we had 2 rooms, asked if we needed/ wanted to be close, after seeing we were traveling with 3 older teens. Front desk staff provided us with vouchers for breakfast which were included in the price. Floor plan is spread out with a long walk to the rooms. Hallways were dark, due to the brick as stated in other reports. Doors need to be replaced as most were worn and scratched. Wall paper in hallways was torn. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Wireless internet did not work in our rooms, but we did not need to use it. Teens used pool and liked it. I was glad breakfast was included. Otherwise it was way overpriced. Cooked to order omelets, Belgian waffles. Buffet had scrambled eggs, pancakes which were stuck to the pan and hard. Potatoes, sausage, bacon, which was empty for quite some time. Yogurt, oatmeal fruit. Overall, for the price it was good deal. Hotel experience better that restaurant.
