first, the positives: the room was very clean, the shower exceptional. a short drive to a metro station with parking. however one thing really affected my view of the hotel. there was what i believed to be vomit on the handrail on the staircase close to our room-which i discovered of course by putting my hand in it. it is an outdoor stair, but still i can't see how housekeeping didn't see it, or clean it up. we only stayed 2 nights and i didn't report it to the front desk-although i couldn't have by phone it didn't work- because i thought they would notice it without being told. i was wrong, it was still there when we checked out. that leads me to the biggest negative, at least for me. there were groups of college aged people also staying there, yelling and running up and down the corridor and metal stairs until 3 or 4 am. forgive me for making assumptions, but i have to assume the debris on the handrail came from someone partying too hard. i guess at the price-go to the days inn website for lowest-you have to expect that sort of fellow traveller. unfortunately, it could be a very good place to stay if the tone wasn't set by these inconsiderate people. a few extra minor inconveniences: none of the vending machines worked, and the room, granted a smoking room, smelled as if 20 people had just been smoking nonstop in there just before we came, and the phone did not work. it's a good place for young people set lose on the world, but for business people or those resting up for sightseeing and lots of walking, perhaps not the best choice.
