My hubby and I stayed at the hotel for two nights. The rooms are small but extremely clean with comfortable linens and a dated bathroom. The beds are comfortable, and the morning coffee is awesome. The only concrens were the hot water, it ran out the first morning, and couldnt maintain a regular tempurature the second. The other is the noise, traffic is right outside and you can hear people in the next room. This was easily remedied at bedtime by running the fan. When we come back we will stay again and try a cottage next time.

The Isleview Motel & Cottages is located in Trenton, Maine, very close to Bar Harbor. The Isleview is a small locally owned business. They keep the property in good shape and the rooms are always clean. Yes, they are small rooms and cottages, but nice. We actually stayed in the motel portion of the Isleview and thought the rate was super and the place very nice.

This is a very good location. It is a short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. There are several VERY good Lobster Pounds around the motel. Our favorite was the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound. Lots of good local places in the area, away from the crazy crowds in downtown Bar Harbor.

We do intend to return next year.

We arrived to a gruff welcome, but the owner warmed up a little when we asked where the best lobster was to be found. She suggested 3 places and we went to her first choice right across the street. It was excellent! We wish we could say as much for the room which stank from over use of "carpet fresh". The motel room on the end closest to the cabins was beat up and in desperate need of a remodel. No heat, no air conditioning, just a stifling smell with no way to open windows which were painted shut. Continental breakfast was all but nonexistent: a bagel, coffee and juice. We had just stayed in a lovely B & B in Calais,ME with a deluxe breakfast for less! This was the low point of our week in Maine. Avoid this spot!

My wife and I enjoyed our one-night stay at this cottage. we stayed there in May but the weather was so cold that we had to turn on the heater. All in all, the place is well-kept (well obviously it is a family-run business) and equipped with every single thing the guest needs. Yes, the cottage room (I am talking about the one-room cottage) is small but it is cozy and comfortable. Their breakfast is also nice and tasty.
