“Loved it!! Go there without a second thought!!!”

We went there in July 2011. We needed a cheap hotel with microwave, freeze, close to Acadia attractions, and still a decent property. This hotel met the need perfectly! I won't see this is "The Great Place" to stay or something ... if you can spend money, there're better places on desert island, but for those like me who had money constraint, this is the best! We got a room with full kitchenet, we got one with view of Mt Cadillac ... beautiful view while having tea! Can't forget the trip we had, can go there many times!

Make sure you get the room on rear side though, front side being adjacent to Rt 3 it is very noisy.

The hotel/cabin rates in the Acadia/Bar Harbor area were a bit expensive so I picked this motel mainly because of the reasonable price. We had a very spacious suite with a full kitchen. The staff was accomodating and the back of the property, along with the pool, was attractive. Many reviews claimed that internet was impossible to get but we did have it in our room all three nights. It is close enough to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park without the hassle of the crowds. I would definitely stay here again.
Great bargain!

“Not Bad, Not Great”

After making direct reservations with the motel specifically requesting a queen bed in the rear of the motel and being given a room number, we arrived at 7PM at night after an 8 hour drive to find that the motel had switched rooms to 2 doubles with a futon in the front of the motel. We were not charged extra for this. The motel is on a busy road and there is a lot of road traffic. Beds are hard but not too uncomfortable. However, they should add a mattress pad over the plastic mattress protector to make it passable. In addition there were no bureaus to put your clothes in. We lived out of our suitcases for 5 days. Furniture is mismatched looking like flea market finds. There was a small shelf to place a couple of items on in the bathroom. Be careful when you shower or you may run out of hot water when the place is full. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was responsive to notes left asking for additional supplies. If you don't care about these things then this is not a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: Verify the room before you get there

“We loved it and hope to be back soon”

Besides the great rates, I booked the room in this motel because of its central location and because it was locally, family owned. I had booked the motel room and then had a last minute change in our travel plans that enabled me to book an additional night. Due to room availability we moved rooms after the first night, and we had the opportunity to experience two types of rooms. First of, the staff was extremely friendly from the minute we booked the room, to helping us with changes and throughout our whole stay. Our first night we stayed in a room with a full kitchen. Since I came to mountain bike and to kayak with my two teenage children, a full kitchen was great. It gave me the ability to buy food and make lunches for the next day. The second room we stayed in had a microwave and a fridge. That was very much workable. In retrospect, I should have booked the larger room for all nights, but we really did have a fantastic time. The rooms were clean, coffee was in the room and the pool was heated (which was great). I very much hope to return, we had a great stay!

The name is actually "Acadia Sunrise Motel". This was the second spot we stayed at in the area as bookings were tight and we had to do two places to get three nights. The room was very clean and comfortable, quite roomy for the price and updated finishes. The manager Roy is terrific and very helpful on all fronts from restaurant advice to kayaking launches and weather. Trenton is just outside of Mt. Desert, so you can easily get to the various island destinations. If you're not concerned with frills and just want clean, simple lodging at an excellent value, this is for you.

Room Tip: The doubles here are huge and families can book adjoing rooms with kitchenettes, so perfect for larg...
