This has surely got to be one of the best places to stay on the Maine Coast. The decor is from eariler times, perhaps the 30s, 40s or 50s. It is as if time stood still, yet all in great condition. My wife and I stayed in one of the cottages which had everything you needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and everything was clean and fresh. Great natural light and ambiance. The hotel is about 150 yards from one of the historic Maine lighthouses—Pemaquid Light which is on one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world—which by the way is very accessible to watch the incoming waves crash against the shore. I am a photographer and this is a great place to photograph!—Sunrise through Sunset. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and recomends great places to visit in the area—which are many. Eating in this part of Maine is a real treat, and just down from the hotel is the Sea Gull Cafe where you can get the best blueberry pancakes in the world, lobster rolls, chowda and a vast selection of great eats. Quiet, good for couples or a solo. Relaxing and invigorating atmosphere.
