“Sleepless in Boothbay”

If you are looking just for views, good place to stay. otherwise pass this one up, There was no way to lock the sliding glass door in my room or my daughters room. The mgmt knew this when we checked in and didn't mention it. no phone in the room and when i tried on my cell i got no answer. when we spoke to her in the morning she said there was a stick near the door to put in the track to keep it from opening. its a 1x1" stick.
The outside doors are inside grade luan, you can see daylight around the edges. i was given a 45$ refund on my almost 500$ bill for my sleepless night
The property is old,you can tell, cleanliness and safety are a priority when I travel and I did not feel completely safe, the first night I stayed awake. If I could have found another place to stay i would have. Columbus weekend

“Nice property in a nice location”

My wife and I stayed in the Oars building. It has no A/C but we knew that and left the door open to the back porch and there was a fan in the room so it was pleasant. Great little property on the water. I even caught about a dozen fish right off their dock! Very quite, with great scenery. We would definitely stay there again.

“Great place, hellish ride”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

Aside from the road to the inn being the best at giving you car sickness the inn itself is quite a cozy spot to spend the night

“Great deal, very peaceful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

We needed a room, last minute, peak season and the chamber of commerce recommended this place. It was perfect. We had already spent a week in the Boothbay & Southport area, and East Boothbay was a quiet welcome find. We had a room in the Lantern Building. It was right on the water / beach. The views were great. The rooms are nothing special, but they were very clean. We were able to launch our kayaks right from the private beach. Since we had been camping earlier, we had a lobster pot and camp stove with us, and we were allowed to steam mussels & lobsters on the beach. The most amazing thing was the the price for peak season, waterfront room was only $129 per night including continental breakfast!!!

I booked a last minute getaway at Smugglers Cove Inn. The room I stayed in was immaculate, clean , cathedral ceilings and a deck with the most breathtaking views. East boothbay was a very little town, one restaurant and one general store. I enjoyed my stay there with my family.
