“Great place, poor cottages”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We were there beginning of October 2011 and were totaly delighted by the beautiful place. Watching the sun rise out from the bed, rainbows in the evening and a unbeatable view all over the day. Excatly that what we have been looking for. Additionally garden furniture is provided for warm, sunny days.

The cottages surrunded by a wood are far away from the highway, so there was no disturbtion in any way.

The cottages itself are only for those who get along with a little comport only. At the time we were there it was not possible to create a more or less acceptable room climate: either wet cold or dry warm. The beds were a mess, inparticular for people with intervertebral disc problem. The kitchen and the bathromm are ok!

The people, who run the accomodation a quite nice, but you never have much to deal with them.

Summary: For anyone how is focused on a great scenery the the Beloin's is a place you have to see. Forget it, if you put value on a comfortable accomodation, because it's pretty basic there.

We will keep it in a oustanding good memory, anyway!

“Wonderful weekend”

We decided that a trip to Camden would be a wonderful place to go for a 48th birthday celebration for both of us; however, we didn’t want to break the bank for our lodging. Online we found Beloin’s and it looked perfect for us. A place with awesome views and at a reasonable price, so we booked the room.

We arrived on Friday late afternoon to the rustic looking hotel. I was greeted in the office by a wonderful and kind woman who was most hospitable. I was given our key to our cottage and given directions to the cottage, which was right along the shoreline.

Now the accommodations were not modern, but they were very clean. Our room had a mini kitchen in it and the view from the back porch was…well let’s just say, priceless. The queen size bed was extremely comfortable and we could instantly tell that the owners of this establishment are more concerned with the affordability and comfort of their guests, than they might worry about the outward appearance of their hotel.

At night, it was wonderful to fall asleep to the soft sound of the waves crashing to the shore and the bell ringing from a nearby buoy and best of all, no traffic or human noise. It was truly what Maine is all about.

Upon our departure, again we were treated wonderfully by another family member of this small establishment that has been in the family for quite some time. He was extremely pleasant and he understands that this place is not for everyone, but if you are looking for a wonderful, quiet and comfortable place with scenery that just can’t be beat at an affordable price, this is the place for you. If you want bells and whistles, look elsewhere, but I can guarantee, you won’t find a better view.

Thanks you to the Beloin family for a wonderful and special weekend.

“A return visit .....and another great experience.”

OK, I wrote a review for this place I discovered with my elderly mom in 2009. I decided to stay here again with a friend for 4 days this time since she really wanted to be right on the water. I had to prep her though because she is very picky when it comes to modern amenities. I'm pleased to say she fell in love with the place. Her comment was "Where else would we have been able to feel like we were on a secluded island facing he water paying these prices." As my previous review mentioned, the place isn't fancy. Expect more rustic then modern and be prepared for small annoyances. A door not shutting all the way, curtains that look like they were put up in the 70's, peeling paint on the outside. If you can prepare your mind ahead of time and drink in the setting, you will fall in love with this place. Our 1st night was a bit cool dropping down into the 40's. I remembered seeing a tiny wall heater that I thought would not be ample so I actually packed a small space heater. BOT was I wrong. I am shocked at the heat this wall unit put out. My friend who is normally always cold was so happy for a toasty cabin. Again the showers hot water was ample and the water pressure great. This time we did check out the small beach. Yikes the stairs were a bit scary but once down the isolated rocky beach was delightful. We found so many shells we made an impromptu installation. Our cabin #22 offers two double beds and a fantastic oceanfront view. Laying in bed at night listening to the waves crashing up against the rocks is the memory I miss the most. Up the road towards Linconville was a new cafe that had great breakfast items. These made for wonder breakfast on the porch in the morning. We also love the ample outside seating available. An affordable oceanfront experience in a town that isn't cheap. Thank you Beloins!

Room Tip: All the cabins are different so calling and asking questions helps. Wed did peak into the oceanfront...

“Go for the view, and the quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Don't go if you're looking for mints on your pillow or chintz at the windows! As long as you don't mind rustic...the view is spectacular. And so quiet. We were there 2 nights...the first was unfortunate timing, Hurricane Irene (our window was boarded up, we had to stay in the motel section away from the water). But the next morning was perfect, so we enjoyed an awesome day #2.

Room Tip: We stayed in cottage #28 and loved it...single cottage, on the end. Neighbor on one side but a beau...

“One of my favorite spots on the Rocky Maine Coast”

If you are looking for scenic, this is the best. I have returned to Beloins time and again. Often is it a stopping point on my way to another spot, but usually it is my ultimate destination. Even got to see a group of 13 seals from my cottage window one time. I love being in Camden, but being outside the hustle of the busy tourist scene. I have been returning to Beloins for years and plan to continue to make this one of my frequent getaways.
