After surveying the choices, I chose to stay at the Town Motel on price. It is a basic facility. Clean, located close to town, with caring, responsible owners. Reservation process was smooth. Arrival after hours was taken into account with my room key in an envelope taped to the office door. The room was OK. Clean. The property was quiet - well, we were probably the noisy folks arriving late (although we were trying to be quiet), but we slept in without problem as early morning leavers were quiet. Not a fancy, romantic, luxurious B&B or Inn. Basic, clean, friendly place to stay.

Camden is an expensive place to sleep. In most locations this motel would be 30% less.This is a basic standard motel with comfortable beds and is clean. Rooms are no smoking but smoking is allowed outside the rooms. We were on the second floor which has a wooden balcony facing the parking lot. Chairs are outside each room which become obstacles when carrying suitcases. The bathroom is small with no place for toiletries which was not a problem for one night. No coffee maker, microwave, or fridge is in the room. Coffee and tea are available in the office. There is a light breakfast of muffins and orange juice.

My Husband & I spent 11 days touring New England. Deep into our trip, we stayed at a crummy hotel in Bangor (bad decision). not wanting to sleep there, or even shower. We spent the day in Acadia, and with no hotel reservations, we turned to Trip Advisor to find a hotel on our route back to Boston. My husband stumbled across Towne Motel reviews, and we knew we had a winner. The owner was very nice when we were checking in. I agree with someones statement that "motel" isn't the right word to describe this place. It has your standard motel furniture, but the bed was incredibly comfortable, it smelled clean, and the shower was to die for. The fresh baked (and still warm) muffins the next morning were the icing on the cake. Wonderful place. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Towne again this year while visiting Camden. The rooms are very clean and neat, the hotel is close to downtown so you can park and never have to drive again and it is a great value for the money. Continental breakfast in the lobby, refrigerator too. A good rest because it quiet and away from the bustle of the harbor. We think the Towne is a Find! One piece of advice - Bring your own soap and shampoo if you want more than those tiny bars that motels used to pass out. Don't expect a king-sized bed.
