Keith and Maureen UK
We arrived as strangers to Belfast and Harbor View House, but after meeting Mary Ellen and Trish we felt we were leaving as friends.. They were friendly, helpful and informative with a great sense of humour. All this without being intrusive. The rooms are very stylish and comfortable and furnished in keeping with the history of the house. There is a library of information, travel books etc. plus a large selection of VCR tapes for the use of guests. The house is in a quiet location within easy walking distance to the centre, and has a great view from the outside deck As others have commented, breakfast is an event not to be missed; as Brits we know about cooked breakfasts, but theirs is something else. And homemade afternoon cookies. We spent 3 weeks touring New England and this place was easily the best place we stayed so good we stayed 5 days.
The town of Belfast has a comfortable, slightly old-fashioned feel to it. Within walking distance, there are several restaurants and bars serving a range of food. The local boat trip is well worth taking with good chances to see porpoise and harbour seals.
We wish we could visit more often but the UK is a little too far for a weekend break!
