“Old New England Charm, Elegance and Grace. Perfect in Every Way.”

Looking at the other reviews for Diana and Sonny's wonderful establishment I find there is little I could add other than a shout of, "Hear hear".

This is a wonderful experience in a historical (Domestic Greek Revivial) mansion, perfectly kept and maintained. Breakfast was great. Rooms were great. Bathrooms were great. Hosts were great. It was all great, right down to the 'largest copper beach tree in Maine' in the front garden.

This sounds a bit eulogistic, I know, but there it is. Belfast itself is lovely, too.

“We wish we could have stayed longer!”

We could not have asked for a better Bed and Breakfast! Driving down Route 1, my wife (who is 6 months pregnant) desperately needed a place to stay to enjoy a vacation respite. The White House Inn delivered in every imaginable way. From the ambiance of the charming home, to the warmth and comfort of the rooms. We found ourselves totally relaxed after our long day in Acadia. The little things at this B and B make such a big difference. The proprietors make it their number one priority to make sure you feel welcome. When you enter the home, they immediately invite you to sit and relax in the grand parlor room. They offer you a drink, and talk to you in such a pleasant manner you wish the conversation could continue for hours. The bed was exquisite, as is the overall decor of the room. It is impossible not to get a good night's sleep in this home. Breakfast is top notch and we could have sat and enjoyed our meal all morning, and I feel that with the kindness of the owners you would have been welcome to. Alas, our journey had to continue. Belfast is a great town and is definitely worth exploring, it is certainly more quaint than the hustle and bustle that some of the more "popular" cities in Maine offer. Needless to say, it was difficult to leave, but easy to recommend this B and B to any traveler looking to stay in luxury with true comfort.

“Beautiful in Belfast”

My husband and I just stayed at The White House and was so happy with our selection. We stayed in the garden room which was quaint , comfortable and spacious. The house is an incredible older home that has been restored to perfection. Every room is inviting. The location is awesome, an easy walk to everything. The breakfast was incredible, I couldn't finish all the food that was provided. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating. I would definately stay there again. For those that shy away from B&B's, if you are ever going to try one, this is the one to try!

“2nd time and still great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

I can't say enough about this charming B&B in Belfast Maine (beautiful part of the country). This is a very elegant yet comfortable inn. Owners Diana and Sandy made us feel welcome and “at home” the minute we walked in (the glass of wine helped). If you enjoy a full fancy and delicious breakfast you will not be disappointed. This place is a gem and needs to be on your yearly get-a-way list.

“Looking forward to return visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

This was our 2nd stay at the White House. The first time we visited in the winter, but we were really looking forward to a summer trip to Maine. We returned to the White House Inn, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The White House is a stunning Inn...luxurious accommodations and gracious hosts. The area is gorgeous and the hosts, Sandy and Diana, were able to suggest great hikes, interesting area attractions, and restaurants. (We didn't need to eat lunch though...the breakfasts are phenomenal!) We highly recommend the White House Inn if you are looking for luxury in a gorgeous setting.
