“Unparalleled Attention to Detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

My husband and I learned of this property on a local program ("Chronicle") and deemed it worth a special trip. Despite the rainy December weather, we were more than compensated by the lovely room and most gracious inn-keepers. Rarely have we encountered a property in our world-wide travels where the attention to detail is so exceptional and where the owners--Ed & Judy--have spared no expense in ensuring that the guests have an unparalleled experience. We look forward to returning in the spring, enjoying better weather, and taking fuller advantage of all that the area has to offer. It's only unfortunate that we have to wait that long!

Room Tip: We're sure that they are all lovely, but we stayed in #303 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Loved, Loved, Loved It”

We stayed at the Belfast Bay Inn the first of October and from the moment we walked into the lobby we were continually impressed. Our Suite was like staying in a beautifully decorated apartment. Fortunately the weather was so perfect that we could be served our breakfast outside on the patio in a private garden setting. Dennis at the front desk made dinner reservations for us at the Lobster Pound and that seemed to top our stay off perfectly. You will be amazed at your stay at the this Inn as we have stayed at many other beautiful award winning Inn's and this one is one of the best and far exceeded our expectations.

“Best Birthday Ever!”

After 3 nights in New York City & 2 nights in Cape Cod, Belfast Bay Inn was the true highlight of our trip. Room 303, overlooking the main street, was beautifully appointed & a luxurious home away from home. Ed & Judy were a delight & very accomodating. One day we had breakfast in the courtyard & the next day was in our room. It was decadent. We would definitely go back. In fact, I can't wait. It is worth every penny. The town is a treasure with it's own art deco theatre. On a Saturday night, we were two of four people watching "The Help". Belfast Bay Inn was not only good for the soul, but good for the heart.

“A Truly Refined Experience for Knowledgable Travellers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

My wife and I had a getaway at the Belfast Bay Inn for Columbus Day weekend. I travel frequently around the world for business, and have stayed in countless hotels. Every once in a while, you encounter a hotel where everything is done just right. The Belfast Bay Inn is one of those rare gems that I will think of fondly the next time I am stuck in another shoebox business hotel room.

Ed and Judy spared no expense in outfitting the Inn, and spare no effort in insuring that the experience will be calm, relaxing and very sophisticated. Our room was stunning, both in the understated quality and elegance of the furnishings, and in the absolute peace and quiet.

There are many examples of this approach. The most dramatic is the Bose Wave radio in each room instead of the usual barely usable, tinny sounding ugly $5.00 clock radio one normally finds. For someone who is musically oriented, it is a wonderful contrast to walk into your room and be greeted by the rich sound of good music played well and the capability That set the tone for the entire visit.

Breakfast was just right. A freshly made quiche, delicious fruit salads and excellent coffee. The weather was so nice that we were able to enjoy our breakfasts on the secluded rear terrace.

Ed and Judy's years in the hospitality industry show in a level of sophisticated, understated service that one rarely sees nowadays. Even jaded travellers such as myself will find the Belfast Bay Inn a refreshing oasis. We can't wait to go back!!

“All the reviews are accurate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

My wife and young daughter stayed here for 5 nights very recently and I can confirm that all the excellent reviews are true and accurate.

We were on holiday from the UK visiting Boston and the Maine coastline.

We stayed in room 103 which was on the ground floor.

My daughter had a large bed to herself and we had the other one.

All the furnishings were top quality and very tasteful.

The bedroom/living area had a large flat screen TV, fridge for drinks, coffee maker, Bose CD player, fire, air con, and small sink.

There was also a safe, iron/ironing board and umbrella in the closet.

The bathroom was very elegant with quality toiletries.

Judy and Ed the owners delivered breakfast each morning which was cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and either eggs/bacon or fritata containing vegetables, coffee and orange juice.

I can eat for England but I never left the room hungry.

Judy and Ed leave you alone but are available if you need anything.

They are friendly, courteous and polite.

We loved Boston and Maine and would have no hesitation in returning in a few years.

We would certainly stay in the Inn again.

10/10.
