We stayed here as part of a 4,000+ mile road trip from Tucson, AZ to Wilmington, NC & back. I stayed here with my husband & my dog. We picked this hotel because it was on our route & had everything we needed, which was pet-friendly with a fridge & microwave in the room. When we checked in, I asked if we were on the first floor. The girl at the counter said no, but she let us switch to a first floor room! I know that may not sound like much, but out of 4 hotels on this road trip that had put us on a higher floor, this was the ONLY hotel that actually let us switch to a first floor room! Our dog can't climb stairs & is afraid of elevators, so having a first floor room is much easier for us when we travel with him. The room had everything we needed (fridge & microwave), comfortable beds, & a very nice flat-panel TV.
The only negative thing was that the area seemed kind of shady to me. Soon after we checked in there was some yelling in the parking lot. Then, I have no idea how many people were in the room next to ours or what they were doing in there, but all night long their door opened & shut at least a few times an hour. This wouldn't have been much of a problem except for some reason when they inserted their key card in their door, it sounded exactly like someone was putting a key card in OUR door. Whenever I heard it, I fully expected someone to try to get into our room (we had the top latch locked, as we always do in hotels, so they would not have been able to get in if the door had actually opened). Luckily our door never opened, but this went on all night until I fell asleep. I am very much a night person, so when I say this went on until I fell asleep, I mean like 2:00AM-3:00AM! Plus, it was still going on when we woke up in the morning!
