We checked in & immediately discovered that this particular Hampton Inn just didn't meet up to normal standards. The hotel is around 7 years old. Altho some renovations have been done, the beds are NOT your cushy Hampton beds. They are going thru the process to upgrade, but it sounds like the upgrades may still be a way off.... They did allow us to cancel 2 nites without charge.

This was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. The staff was extremely attentive. The breakfast was good. Just an overall great place to stay. We plan to stay there again soon.

Stay away from this property. We love Hamptons. On our recent Florida road trip, we stayed in six different Hampton properties. After staying at this property, we almost cancelled the rest of our Hampton reservations.
We checked in late and was given a room on the first floor near the breakfast area. When we pulled back the sheets, it appeared that the sheets had not been changed from the last guest. Between the sheets was a napkin. The front desk guy was very responsive and immediately provided us with the room across the hall.
Unfortunately, that room was worse than the first. It was so late that we thought better just live through it. The bathroom had not been cleaned well -- at all. The toilet had urine spots (lots) on the rim -- the part between the opening of the seat. I was completely grossed out, but we just put lots of toilet paper over it. It was so late that we figured we could survive a few hours.
We did keep our other Hampton reservations. Two were great. Two were okay. Two were fair -- but not as bad as this one. We'll continue to stay in Hamptons, but be much more careful in our selections.

My wife and I recently had to make a last minute trip from Houston TX to Knoxville TN. We got a late start in the day and spent the night at the Hampton Inn in Covington. We made the reservation approximately 10 hours before we arrived. While we were basically in and out in 7 hours, we were quite impressed with the hotel. The room was very clean, everything was in working order, and the room appeared a bit larger than a typical Hampton Inn. The front desk clerk at check in was extremely helpful. The "frontage" road on which the hotel sits could perhaps be a bit better lit at night, but the hotel is easy to find. For travelers with more time to spend, there are numerous restaurants in the surrounding area.

Worth a stop / stay when in the area.
