“Deserves a second visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This establishment is under renovation, but I think that is a good thing. It can only get better.
The size of the suite for the price was excellent. It is very outdated but I expect to see better quality things in the future. The employees I interacted with were friendly, the chef and the breakfast was very good. They have a unique way of offering a full breakfast. The bed was average, but the towels are small and horrible. I hope they are updated as well.
I do realize the updates will raise the price but I think this Hotel deserves a second visit. For a temporary stay I would still recommend it.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the interstate, very noisy until traffic dies down.

“Under renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Stayed here for a couple of nights with family. As of Jan 2012, the hotel is under renovation, so there is equipment and building supplies laying around the parking lot. I am pretty easy to please, but I can't recommend this place. Our tub was dirty and I had to clean it before using it. The bedside light didn't work and the door scrapped the threshold when you opened it. The staff was very nice and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was good. The hotel is economical if you are on a tight budget, but there are better places nearby.

“Cheap, but you get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I have stayed at this motel many times over the years. I attend classes at LSU and this has always been where my company arranges for me to stay. I have had many one night stays, and have even stayed for 1 and 2 weeks at a time. This used to be an awesome place, with a great free breakfast and a lounge with free happy hour. It has new management now, and the place has gone down so fast. The lounge is no longer open, even though it is still advertised. The restaurant area where the breakfast is served is open sometimes, but not always, so you never know whether you will get breakfast or not, and the people who prepare the breakfast are very unfriendly now. The rooms are still clean, but in every room I have stayed in, the bathrooms have walls that are patched up and the bath feels like it will pass through the floor. I have stayed in 4 different rooms lately, and they are all like this. At night now, when you leave the room, the walls outside are full of roaches. The only ones I have seen in the room were dead, but outside they are everywhere. This was never a problem before. I have convinced my company to let us stay at another hotel now because of these concerns. I hate that because this place holds many good memories for me, and it was like home away from home. I hope that is regains some of it's former glory, but for now I would avoid it.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first. Look at the bathroom and make sure it is ok.

“Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I stayed here twice over the Summer of 2011 and I had an enjoyable time. The price was good and the staff was very nice. My plane was late the first time and then I had to find my way there from the airport but when I called them to let them know that I was still stuck in GA because of the weather and the plane had not arrived they were very pleasent and understanding. The pool was great because each time I went you could see that everyone was having a good time. The breakfast was hot and fresh. All types of shopping, foods, and entertainment down Bluebonnet. I will be traveling here again and I would surely use the same Quality Suites.
