My 7 coworkers and I recently spent 2 nights here. They should be ashamed at the state of the place, the behavior of employees, and the lack of care for customer concerns.

Issues (in no particular order)
* all 8 of us checked in together (reservation was made together); front desk had 1 person working and was ill-prepared for the influx; why weren't keys made ahead of time and rooms assigned? it took 5 minutes per person for him to find a room and make keys
* dead roach on ceiling in one room (he had to scrape it down before he felt ok sleeping)
* toilet didn't work in one room; on first morning front desk opened room next door to his and guarded it while he used toilet; he came back that evening and toilet still didn't work (wasn't fixed); he had to call front desk to tell them it wasn't fixed and was moved to another room
* coworker's room next to mine did not smell of smoke on checkin; upon returning next day room reeked of smoke and was moved to another room; front desk denied cleaning staff was smoking in room
* another coworker's bathtub was so filthy she was afraid to use it; bottom of tub was very dirty
* I called front desk regarding hairdryer (didn't know they're not provided in every room) and front desk lady seemed like it was a burden for me to ask for one, told me there was 1 left, and I had to pick it up from front desk.
* my room smelled like smoke from checkin; called front desk to notify them it needs additional cleaning and they did nothing; offered to move me to another room but at that point it was late, I was tired, and had an early morning so opted not to move; returned from business next evening to find room smelled even worse of smoke; upon checkout woman said there was a note to the GM about the smoke smell but wasn't apologetic or the least bit concerned about my stay
* one of the 2 double beds in my room had cigarette burns in the comforter, both beds had stained sheets
* bathroom floor in front of toilet has water seeping up between floor boards when you stand on it; I can only imagine there is already (or soon will be) a severe mold problem in this room
* one member of our group saw the same "illicit activities" in the parking lot mentioned in other reviews
* We all returned from our trip exhausted having not slept at all during our stay.
* Overall this was a terrible experience and we travel frequently as a group. We have sworn off EVER staying in a red roof inn again. There is no concern for customer satisfaction, and the rooms are so smoke-filled in a property that touts itself as "100% smoke-free facility" what a joke!

What is normally a pleasant business trip to Louisville was ruined by our hotel accommodations.

This is a motel,...so as a woman traveling by herself...I didn't feel safe at all! First...they have an elevator...but you access it from an outside hallway next to the stairs. The outside of the building wasn't renovated...but I was surprised that the room had furniture an bedding that looked new, and there was a TV with excellent picture and channel selection. The room appeared to be clean...but they have the radiant heater up next to the ceiling, which means it takes a long time to heat the room. Not toiletries and small towels...but they were clean. Bed was fresh looking, but hard!

The door wasn't in the best repair, and even with all the locks on...I still didn't feel safe...so I put the upholstered vinyl chair in front of it. During the night I could hear everything outside and next door. I turned the heat on...and when it finally got warm...I noted a large bug on the wall...it must have been hiding in the heater!!! It was gray in color with a flat and oval body sitting on the wall...and then another one appeared...flying in the room!! I killed it...but still not sure what it was! I got dressed, and called down to have security walk me to my car....and he was very nice and friendly. I didn't stay in the superior room....but it wouldn't have mattered. The only reason I stayed there...was because it was the only place available, due to a convention in town...and it had a great online rating!!! I guess it all depends on what you're used....and this was fair from what I was used to, and for $80.00...waaaaaay overpriced!!! Normally..for $99 I can stay at the Hilton Garden Inn!!!

I had a great stay at the Red Roof the hotel staff was very friendly and personable.

The room has been renovated everything was clean and fresh.
Price was steep for the area.

Nice quiet night. No problems..

Towels are small though. Need to clean floors. Other than that it was Great!

Stayed one night as part of a summer vacation. The room was clean and fairly quiet. The hotel is less than 15 minutes from the Louisville airport, Kentucky Kingdom, and the State Fairgrounds. Additionally, Stella, the person working front desk when we checked out, was friendly and extremely professional. Would give the hotel a better rating if it were not for the issues we encountered checking in.

Although several events, including the State Fair, were occurring in the area, the hotel appeared to have only one person serving the front desk and housekeeping requests. The person working the desk was nice and tried to be helpful, but he was obviously overwhelmed. During the checking in process, the clerk responded to inquiries about hotel availability as well as guest towel/room service requests. After he returned from responding to a guest request, we still could not be checked in because of an apparent computer shutdown. When the computer system became operational, the clerk assigned us the wrong room type. After two inquiries about the room he assigned us, he realized his error and corrected it. By this time, I was beginning to wonder if making a reservation at this hotel had been a good idea. Unfortunately, the problems were just beginning.

When we arrived at the room, the door was unlocked and ajar. The lights, however, in the room were turned off and the room was unoccupied. Moreover, there were several guys drinking beer and smoking on the walkway near the room. They did not seem surprised the door was already open. It was unnerving. We called the front desk clerk about the problem and he moved us to another room.

We stayed in this hotel about a year ago. The neighborhood around the hotel is a bit "sketchy", but at that time we felt safe in the hotel. Definitely did not feel safe this time.

Room tip: Parking lot is small. Front parking lot, however, has better lighting than back parking lot. If you are checking in at night time, park in front.

we stayed here for the street rod nationals event at the fair grounds so sorry we chose this location. Stay anywhere but here worst experience i have ever had. room was semi clean, Security what security!!!!!! did not feel safe at all, drug deals going on at the waffle house and in the parking lot of the hotel, and prostitutes in the parking lot also using the rooms, used rubbers in the parking lot, I hope the corporate office investigates this hotel. or shuts it down. please dont stay here if you have children unless you want them educated on how to be a hooker or drug dealer. dont plan on sleeping cause you wont due to the parties going on out side must be the local hangout too lots of screaming and yelling.

I'm so sorry for the problems that you had during your stay with us. We do have security and we also have the local police driving through our lot. We do not knowingly allow this type of activity . We can't help what goes on in the waffle house, but we do care about our guests. Please except my apology .
