“Short on Southern Hospitality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We like the location, room was quiet and clean. Living room had a fire going. But it was snowing outside. We already had an overpriced meal at their Owl Tavern. We saw what looked like a former coffee station, but no coffee/ tea were available. They made us go back to the tavern where a bunch of people were drinking. Then in the room and at breakfast they expected a gratuity, even though we mainly helped ourselves to a buffet. The place just seemed mercenary. Also we booked the room a few weeks in advance and they already charged our credit card for the stay before we even arrived. We will never return.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment with your visit. After examining the review, I assume you noticed the coffee station which is available for early morning risers and/or utilized for meetings and gatherings but is not a functional feature 24 hours a day? Had you inquired at the front desk, we should have offered to bring coffee up to the parlor for you. As to the TAVERN, yes they do have coffee available and yes it does serve alcoholic beverages to those wishing to indulge. In the dining room at breakfast, we do offer a signature card for guest accountability and for a guest wishing to post a grautuity to their room folio. In the guestrooms, there is an envelope whereby guests wishing to leave a gratuity for the housekeeper may utilize it. Both are at the discretion of the guest and not mandatory, merely a convenience feature for the guest. Thank you.

“Fantastic!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

I booked a two night stay for my mom and myself to celebrate her 80th birthday. What I didn't plan was having a car wreck that left us without transportation from Friday evening to Monday morning. But....the brilliant light that came as we entered the tunnel...was the Beaumont Inn, it's owners and staff!!! They became "family" and embraced us with warmth and hospitality that truly touched our hearts! Not only did they go the "extra mile", they went the extra "ten miles".
The inn itself is a masterpiece which is beautifully decorated with family history. The food...every morsel was delicious! We will be back to visit without a doubt.

Room Tip: We enjoyed staying in the main house where the gift shop, main dining room, and Tavern are easily ac...

Most important, thank goodness you and your mother were only "banged up" and not seriously injured! We look forward to your return visit so you can experience all the adventures missed out on this trip. Hope the car made it and our Best for the Holidays!

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and also appreciate the kind words about Chad. Chad has been with us for many, many years and certainly is a great ambassador for the Beaumont Inn. Chad, along with the many folks who work with us, are the backbone of our organization. Without their warm hospitality and true dedication to the industry, we would not be where we are today! Thanks again and please return soon!

“Most uncomfortable bed ever!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We travel quite a bit and I can safely say that our bed at Beaumont Inn was the most uncomfortable bed we've encountered. I could actually feel the springs in the mattress and no amount of turning on my side or back helped. We booked two nights and when we inquired at the front desk about moving to another room because of bed comfort we were told that the only person that could help us was, in fact, off for the rest of the day! No apologies... just a flippant response. I will say that the dining room staff at both the Owl's Nest and in the breakfast dining room were more than courteous. However, I would not recommend Beaumont Inn and have no plans to ever return.

We are certainly not pleased these folks did not enjoy their stay with us. Today, we represent the fourth and fifth generation Innkeepers to manage our country house hotel and unhappy guests are not the means by which small independent hospitality businesses survive. We have a system in place whereby log entries are made by our folks at the front desk when problems or misunderstandings arise even if the problem is addressed and resolved on the spot so we may learn from these incidents. Upon investigation, the problem in this case was a bed which was reported to be "too firm" for their comfort after the first night's stay. The question was asked if all our bedding came from the same manufacturer. Our staff member on that day could not honestly answer that question and responded that myself or spouse would have the answer but were not available/not on property. They inquired about moving to another room, however, we were completely filled for the evening with no option for switching rooms. My conversation with the staff member and log entry noted no controversy and an apology for their unhappiness with the firm bedding. The bedding in question is 3 years old and yes, we do purchase the top of the line hotel bedding from Serta and definitely do order the extra firm mattress as we have had excellent results with the product. Our bedding is "turned" every quarter by our housekeeping staff as suggested by the manufacturer with a minimum 10 year guarantee. We also understand a firm mattress is not to everyone's liking. We are sorry this experience did not work out for these folks and sorry for the confusion in communication. I wish they had mentioned their dissatisfaction at check-out or if the second night was a true anticipated problem for them, we would have released them from their room obligation, no problem.

“Great getaway in KY horse & bourbon country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

My husband and I wanted to get away for a 3 day retreat that included a day at Keeneland and playing some golf. The Beaumont Inn was about 40 min from Keenland and close to 2 golf courses. Beautiful fall drive. The Inn is located in the oldest town in Kentucky and was formerly a girls school in the 1800s. The owners have done a great job preserving the buildings and grounds and maintaining furnishings - antiques and artifacts - that are both historic and comfortable. We got the last room which was pricey for a b&b but they do have more affordable rooms. It was great that they had 3 dining options on the premise. We chose the Old Owl Tavern and our meal was delicious. My husband really enjoyed sampling the bourbon. Breakfast was great with lots of choices, featuring their specialty cornmeal pancakes.
