“Southern Charm at its finest”

From our initial conversation I knew this would be a memorable stay. Jim Black is simply the finest owner of this wonderful B & B....which is more like home than any other establisment we have ever stayed at. It is absolutely apparent the pride Mr Black has in not only opening his home to you, but the wilingness to make you feel welcome. We went to Kentucky Bluegrass country on mission to pickup a motorcycle in nearby Georgetown, and came away with a profound experience of goodwill and hospitality....unexpected in this day and age....... and the impressions of the Inn, the surrounding grounds so immaculately cared for ,and the personal attention we received made for a lifetime of memories in the short time spent there. The Inn is superb.... from the music, the availability of drinks and snacks, the rooms with their unique characteristics, and the peaceful outside settings ....but the 5 star breakfasts and personal attention made this destination a must on everyones bucket list of top shelf place to visit. If you are visiting Kentucky Bluegrass country......do yourself a favor and call Jim Black..at his home..Blackridge Hall....you wont regret it.

“A special place”

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in this beautiful georgian style mansion. Jim Black was a gracious host. He was very accomodating assisting us with brochures and maps to the local area and attractions. We were impressed by the meticulous rooms and decor. The bed and breasfast is the perfect setting within bluegrass country and overlooks a horse farm. I enjoyed my coffee on the back screened in porch watching the horses graze and play. The location is very convenient as a base to come and go touring the countryside. Our stay at Blackridge Hall made our stay in Kentucky very enjoyable. Deb H.

“Fabulous breakfast overlooking beautiful grounds”

My mom, cousin and I had a nice overnight stay at Blackridge Hall while visiting the Kentucky Horse park. The location was close to the park and Jim even had discount admission tickets we could purchase. Our plans changed slightly but Jim rolled with us and was flexible in our arrival time. Thanks to Jim for his hospitality. Gail, Judy and Jessica

“Southern Hospitality at its Finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

As you enter the gates, there stands Blackridge Hall, a beautiful southern mansion set in the lush countryside of Georgetown, KY. Jim Black, owner, welcomes you to his home with a tour of the house. After settling in, discovered Jim had left us a hand written welcome scroll and chocolate beside the bed. The home is very spacious and each room was beautiful and elegant. There is a wet bar on the second level where Jim had put fresh baked cookies and beverages in the fridge and we could make tea or coffee. We could move about the home and enjoy its unique personality. Jim is a civil war buff and has a wonderful collection of books and artifacts in one of his guestrooms. Jim and his wife, Soung, were cooking in the kitchen and welcomed us in to talk to them as they prepared their supper. They shared their homegrown vegetables with us. it felt like we were staying with our old friends it was so comfortable. We were served gourmet breakfasts on fine china and crystal. The food was delicious and beautiful. We ate our breakfasts on the screened veranda overlooking huge fields of Kentucky bluegrass and thoroughbred horses. Jim is attentive to every detail to ensure his guests are comfortable and relaxed. It was a treat to be pampered and to slow down and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and fine company. We may have come in as guests, but we definitely left as friends. Would recommend staying here if you want to "stop and smell the roses". I am so glad we found this rare gem and Jim, a true Southern Gentleman.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and unique. We upgraded with a room with larger bath.

“Very elegant and peaceful”

The house is a beautiful and elegant Georgian style mansion. Your visit starts off with a tour of the house, the furnishings and the grounds which sits peacefully among several horse farms. Breakfast is several light courses starting with a dish of fresh cut fruit followed by eggs bendict and fresh warm pastry to top it off; another day is fresh fruit plate and a quiche. The back porch is very relaxing and overlooks a couple horse farms. The horses come up to the fence and love to be petted or given apples.
We had a wonderful experience and would recommend it.
