1. We arrived about 9:30pm on a weeknight. The lobby was locked up tight. There's a number on the door you call to get the manager. It was freezing outside. Not a very warm welcome after a long car trip, but they did come to sign us in in only a couple of minutes. Apparently managers live on-site.
2. The place advertises kitchenettes. We've stayed here before and previously there were complete cooking utensils in every room. Now - surprise! There are zero utensils. You have to make a special request for pots, pans, etc. and even then, when they brought them, I think they included one spoon or something.
3. Our heating unit was warm enough, but it made a huge rattling noise with the blower going on and off all night.
4. Besides the pile of drywall in a corner of the bathroom, the room was clean. There are no extra blankets or pillows, but if you ask they will get you some.
5. The bedspread was full of cigarette burn holes and our two rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. The whole room and all our clothes and hair smelled of it and when we arrived home everything had to be washed, even the clothes we didn't wear.
6. There are bright lights outside every room (the rooms open directly to the outside) and the curtains let light through so at night you still can't get the room completely dark.
7. They de-activated our room key cards the day BEFORE we left (even though we paid for all days in advance) and we couldn't get in our rooms the last night and had to call the managers and get new keys.
This place is great for people who are only interested in price and can overlook the small inconveniences. I found them too distracting and would well pay more for a room w/o cigarette smells, noisy heaters, bright lights outdoors, and services delivered as promised.
