“Quiet and Spacious”

We just spent 2 nights at this campground while we visited nearby Mammoth Caves National Park, and were very pleased. We were camping with a pop-up trailer and 3 teenage children. The sites were spacious and well-spaced. We were there during the week and the campground was very quiet and serene. There seemed to be mostly families camping there, with very few big rig RVs. My one complaint was that there is no temperature control in the showers... it is a push button, automatic stop , and the water only lasted 20-30 seconds before you had to push the button again. As it was extremely hot and humid while we were there, I really wanted a nice cold shower, but couldn't change the water temp. Minor inconvenience.

“Cannot wait to go back!”

My husband and I decided to take my two teen aged nieces for their first camping trip to Nolin state park. Upon arrival we were checked in quickly. The campground is easy to navigate. The campsites are huge and very well maintained. We were tent camping and you set up on gravel pads. There is a picnic table and fire pit at each campsite. We had water and electric. We were on site 14, which is right across from the bath house. The bath house has three toilet stalls and three shower stalls. It was very clean and well maintained. There is also laundry on site and a soda machine. The check in booth is also the camp store. It is very well stocked for how small it was. They sell wood, but on our last day they ran out. We were told about a small store that sells wood down the road. It took about 10 minutes to drive there and the wood was almost the same cost as the campground. The area behind our site had a little trail that took you to part of the lake. However it was covered in poison ivy, so be careful. The beach area is near the tent camping area with no electricity. It was clean, but very rocky. I wore my crocs in the water. There is also a weird type of carpet in the swimming area. I am not sure, but I thought maybe it was to prevent you from sinking into the sand. It seemed to have a mucky kind of feeling to it. We will be back. It was one of the best campground I have ever been to.

Located north of Mammoth Cave, Nolin Lake SP has your picture perfect campground and picnic area on the lake. Very nice, though seasonal. My only reservation: draught.
