Based on everything I read here on trip advisor I was expecting my experience to be a little better than it turned out to be. The property is built almost right up against the freeway which is something I usually try to avoid when choosing a place to stay, but on this occasion I somehow failed to realize this. Then, as we were traveling with pets, we were given a room that was facing and closest to the freeway. The freeway noise was pretty bad in the room, probably one of the worst I have stayed in, and made sleeping less than restful. Now I understand that it is often the practice that the less "desirable" rooms are reserved for pet owners, but at the same time we are being asked to pay a premium ($10 per day/dog) to have the pets stay with us. This all seems a little unreasonable. On the upside, the room was nice enough and in good condition and the breakfast was fine. From other reviews it seems most people are somewhat satisfied with the motel and I would concur with one caveat; if you are traveling with pets or really need quiet, you may want to ask which room they plan on assigning to you and where it is located within the motel.

Nice newer Super 8 in great location. Rooms are relatively large and clean with most the creature comforts one needs. My bed was comfortable which was a plus. Although Super 8 is basic lodging and basic breakfast this was all I needed on this overnight stop and they did everything well. Room was very well priced for what I received and will stay there again next time passing through.

I've stayed at most hotels in salina-see my other reviews- and I was expecting more from the reviews. I liked the big bed and it was pretty comfy. I also liked the very big recliner in the room, which isn't something I've seen in a lot of hotels. This was the second place in Salina that said it had a movie channel and when you flip through the tv channels it's gone. I wish people would quit advertising this. The breakfast bar left something to be desired as they didn't have a great variety of pastries or fruit. I didn't like the bath towels, and they didn't have any "pool towels" down at the pool. Speaking of the pool. It was missing about a foot of water, had way too much chlorine, and was tiny...only took about 5 seconds to swim from one end to the other. I also had the "privacy" sign up on my door until around 11. I assumed the housekeeping would come back but when I arrived back in my room at 6:30 the room was still not tidy.

We stayed the weekend at Super 8 in Salina. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean. Plenty of pillows on the beds! We usually ask for extra pillows, had so many we had to put extras on the other bed! Continental breakfast was cereal, donuts, toast, hot waffels, juice, coffee, milk, apples. The hotel is right off I35, easy access on and off. Right at the edge of town, easy to get to restaurants, Walmart etc.
