“Quiet retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

One of the quietest properties I've stayed. Located off major roads and next to the golf course, there is very little traffic driving by. Very convenient to shopping and multiple dining opportunities. Room is nice with everything you need to cook for yourself. For the price I did not expect a separate bedroom and was satisfied with the layout of the suite. The breakfast was ok, cereals, waffle, breakfast sandwiches to microwave. The biggest dissapointment was the breakfast attendant - she never said one word to any customer she can in contact with including myself - almost rude. The evening receptionist was very pleasant, on my second night the remote was missing from my room - I went down to get another remote. One was not available at the desk, and she told me she would find an empty room and take their remote and deliver it to me. Within 5 minutes she knocked on my door with remote, stayed to make sure it worked and apologized for the inconvenience.

“Nice for a clean extended stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Located in a nice neighborhood away from hotel row. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. A nice dining table is provided to eat at along with a fully stocked kitchen to cook in.
For a place with suites in the title, it would be nice if the rooms had a separate sitting or living area. The bathroom was extremely small and having the sink vanity right outside the bathroom was inconvenient for two or mire people trying to get ready for the day.
I booked directly through the website and it gives you the option to pick your pillows, high or low floor, and request a crib or rollaway. the only option that wasnt fulfilled was the crib.
Nice continental breakfast area with a variety of options.
We paid 130/nt in Oct. Think there was an event in the area going on that had the rate higher.

“OK for quick stop-over”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We spent a night here on our way from MCI to Lawrence. Hotel is relatively new so in pretty good condition though I wouldn't want to stay there in a few years. Unlike others in this category (Homewood, Residence Inn), we didn't have a separate bedroom. Checked out the pool- it wasn't much. The breakfast was fine- all pre-packaged: yogart, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, milk, microweavable egg sandwiches, etc. My big complaint is the bath towels- I expect soft, plush and luxurious towels from any hotel in the Marriott family. These towels were thin and small- something I'd expect at a Motel 6.

“Comfortable and a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

The TownePlace Suites is a newer hotel located walking distance to many restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store and shopping. We stayed here for a family wedding and found the location to be perfect and the room comfortable and clean. It was nice to have a small kitchen and large closets. My husband appreciated the large well equipped desk and good internet service. It is also located on a golf course with beautiful scenery and nice places to walk.

Room Tip: Ask for the golf course side for a quieter room.

“Room smelled like feet”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

Way below Marriott standards. The room smelled like feet. I'm not sure if was mold or old smoke, but it did not smell good. It was right next to the elevator, about 12 inches away, so it was noisy.

One of my colleagues also complained about the smell in his room.

The bedding was old.

When I went for the free breakfast, they were about out of coffee and had not OJ.

Overall, a poor experience.

Room Tip: stay somehwere else
