“Pick Another Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2010

Primarily picked this hotel because of the amenities supposedly for the kids. We were traveling with our three grandkids, ages 10,5,3 and thought this would be an ideal place to stay with all the amenities that were listed on the website.

We lodged in the rooms off the coutryard which offered great convenience for the kids to run and play safely. The rooms were okay, the ac in our room while it worked well it was very noisey.

The experience would have been more enjoyable had the various amenities in the courtyard worked. There were no paddles available for the table tennis, no clubs available for the miniature golf course, one out of 4 arcade games worked. The little carousel did not work. As mentioned earlier, the only advantage offered was that the in door courtyard was huge and our grandkids could run around indoors safely. Since most of the rooms facing the courtyard were vacant during our stay our grand kids could play with the toys they brought and not disturb any other guests.

We actually went to Wal Mart and bought our own table tennis paddles and balls. The grandkids had a great time playing table tennis once WE provided the equipment.

We picked this hotel by the amenities listed on their website, but after staying there for three days I have no reason to recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Wouldn't Recomment”

I was in KS on business with another employee and we stayed at this hotel. In the middle of the night I was awakened by a large bug crawling up my back. I found out he had the same issues in his room. Also, from where the shower head was in the wall, you could see through. This was not a good experience and I most likely will not choose to stay at an Econo Lodge Hotel again.

“Different but OK”

So this is a older Hotel. A "Friend" made the reservation at this hotel. She booked 8 rooms for two nights, Saturday and Sunday. Both nights were $65.00 a night. When I first pulled up I thought what was she thinking. We stayed In the two story part of this property. There are no windows towards the outside of this hotel. But I got thinking that was a good thing because the grounds need help. Each room had a large sliding glass doors as well as a regular door that opened into the enclosed courtyard. The courtyard was a good place to socialize if you have a large group. I was surprise by the rooms. They were actually OK. for the price. The bed spreads needs to be replaced, But overall the rooms were clean. If you are looking a three, four or five star hotel. This place is not for you. If you are on a budget and are looking for a cheap OK place. Than I would recommend this place. Pool area needs work, But the kids at the hotel seem to be enjoying themself. They have free breakfast also. We didn't try it.

“Nice and Clean”

I stayed at this hotel with my two children and had a great time. The rooms were nice and clean and the bed were very comfortable. The only bad thing about this property was that the first few channels were a bit fuzzy, but they did have over 50 channels. My kids enjoyed swimming and play video games so the tv was not that big of a deal. There was also a lot of places to eat around the hotel making it very convenient . This place was a good value for the price and I will come back next time.

“Stay away from the Econo Lodge”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2008

As a fairly seasoned traveler, I like to stay in Choice Hotels properties in Kansas.... I can usually bank on a quality stay at a value price. Although at first glance the price was $47.99 for a weekend stay, there was certainly no value after we stayed!

For being a property that is hyped as brand-new upgrades, recently renovated rooms... it was frankly awful!

Here were our issues with the property:

1. Heater barely worked, and loudly clanked throughout the night, as we were trying to stay warm.

2. The fridge did not function at all! This was bad because my 16-month old daughter's milk spoiled.

3. The kids wanted to enjoy the swimming pool, but the room was freezing cold, as was the water, and it was filled entirely with fog. No exhaust?? Thankfully the hot tub was hot, but when you turn the jets on it shoots out cold water.

4. There were no extra towels in the pool room. Had to walk outside to the front desk facility to go get some.

5. The kids looked forward to using the indoor "putt putt" but unfortunately the registration guest employee said they "couldn't find their putters."

From beginning to end, this was probably one of the worst stays our family has experienced.
