“Stay Away!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2011

We were going to stay in this dump for our family reunion until they told us there was no HOT water for three days! After distubing the manger from his favorite TV show, we decided to check out and ask for a full refund. The ammenties were a joke! The Pool was CLOSED because the PH was way off! Most of the arcade games were broken or out of service. There were so many corners cut that I doubt the bedding was cleaned everyday. This hotel should be shut down or condemned. This hotel is giving Ecnolodge a bad name!

“Don't Stay Here!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2011

After reading the last comment about the brown recluse spiders, this review will seem trivial! We "attempted" to stay at this hotel for a family reunion over Memorial Day weekend. We had a total of 6 rooms. NO HOT WATER, THE POOL WAS CLOSED, AIR CONDITIONING DID NOT WORK IN ONE ROOM, and other minor issues. When asked about the lack of hot water on Saturday, they orignally promised it would be on; however, later said we would be out of hot water until Tuesday as they couldn't (more like they were too cheap!!), to get anyone to repair. When we confronted management, they indicated they had called a few repairmen and couldn't find anyone so they stopped trying. They started calling again when we were there and mentioned that they could SMELL GAS...but couldn't get the pilot light lit...lovely, gas & fire a great comination! We checked out of the hotel at about 8 p.m. that evening and requested our money back...By the way, I killed a spider which looked very similar to a picture of a brown recluse in the bathtub in my mom's room.

The management at this hotel has absolutely no clue as to what is required in the hospitality/hotel business. The fact they could let 100+ guests go without hot water for multiple days is ridiculous; however, add in the brown recluse issue and non-working pool with ceiling falling in...and THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED!

On a positive note, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET!! Wonderful service, excellent breakfast, fabulous pool -- felt like a five star hotel -- honestly, cannot say enough about the place!

“do not make this mistake”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

Yikes! No hot water, ceiling falling in the murky pool, but the scary part was the brown recluse spiders! Two dead one on the floor when we check in. should have walked right back out. Live one climbing the wall the next morning. Glad they kids didn't get bitten! This place should be closed down until they get the situation fixed.

“Won't choose this one again!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

We were very disappointed with our stay at this establishment. Our room was off an internal courtyard that was dark, humid and musty. The room had no windows to the outside, poor lighting, a low drop ceiling with many water damaged panels, and dirty air vents. It was like being in a cave. The mattress was awful, sheets torn and stained. On arrival, we found several hard pieces of an unidentifiable matter on the carpet. After the room had been "cleaned" the next day, they were still there. The second day of our stay we had the do not disturb sign on the door when the service came by; our room was not cleaned that day and we were later told that if the sign is out the service does not come back (This is not mentioned in the guest information book in the room). We had to take the soiled towels to the front desk to get clean ones. No one offered to bring them to the room. When I checked the room before we left for any missed belongings, I found used plastic cups from a previous guest under one of the bed edges. When we complained to the Manager at check our he seemed less than concerned. There was not an apology or a thank you. All this for $89.99 a night. If we could have found another room in the area in our price range, we would have left. We will not stay here again.

We stayed for two nights. Hotel was clean. The nightly rate is good and the location worked great.
